Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to introduce myself... My name is Julie and originally I was DT bride but now with everything going on I'm definately reconsidering. DPA was one of my choices in the beginning but because there was so little info about it I figured I would play it safe and go with DT.... that go me far....lol

Anyways... I was wondering if some of you wouldn't mind posting some of the correspondences that you have with the WC because I'm sure a lot of us have the same questions, so if we all post our questions and WC answers I think we would all have our questions answered sooner....

Also if they tell one bride one thing and another bride another thing we can bring that up to their attention...

I think that its BS that they are not offering the same thing as dreams cancun and DT because they are all the SAME company... So if the other 2 resorts offer the chairs to be covered with white linen for ceremony and reception regardless of the package and regardless of the people than they should offer the same thing! Same goes for not allowing outside photographers.... other dreams resorts allow it.... should be same here.

Anyways... sorry for the looong post. I e-mailed Jacy with some questions so as soon as she gets back to me i will post the answers...

If any ladies have any pics of the reception and ceremony sites, or more info about the photographer that they offer can you post it on this site or PM me?

Thank you very very much

I have already booked my photographer and she will be taking my photos on my wedding day. Natalia and Jacy aren't going to tell me that she isn't allowed to. We are not dealing with Karisma resorts here... There are no resorts that straight up don't allow outside photographers. I just think this is some miscommunication bc it really just doesnt make sense. I'm not worried at all.

BTW... Can we share what emails we are contacting them at? Below is what I have received/sent from/to Natalia

weddings@dreamspuertoaventuras.com.mx
weddings1@dreamstulum.com.mx
weddings@sunscapepuertoaventuras.com.mx (I'm pretty sure this one has been closed or redirected to one of the others)

Hey ladies! It has been a while since I have been on this site- stupid stock market!! Lots going on at work.

Bianca- I am interested to hear what you have researched in PA for an off site reception. From the looks of the town it looks adorable! If you have enough info, you should create another thread dedicated to the vendors in PA. I will start researching that.

I don't know about these places for a reception but we are researching a place to have a rehearsal dinner off site of the resort. My niece's FMIL wanted to have something in Cancun, but with 40 guests schlepping to Cancun, it might be a logistical nightmare.

These places are all in PA or very nearby:

RICHARD'S:on the marina. Whether you come for the food or to be entertained by Richard's stories and antics. You will enjoy yourself here. Excellent US Grade-A Steaks, Seafood and Pizza, plus a salad bar. A long standing Puerto tradition. Telephone 52 (984) 873-5086

TIRAMISU:on the marina. Delicious Italian cuisine fused with Mexican and Classic American dishes all wrapped up in an intimate atmosphere. Owners Donna Carey from Connecticut and Memo Cameretti from Naples Italy, are usually on hand to greet you and oversee your memorable evening. Ideal for that special event or bring in your fresh catch and they will prepare it in one of ten different ways. Telephone 52 (984) 873-5654 or visit their web site at Tiramisumex.com to check out the menu.

CAFE - CAFE:street side near Italian Bakery This bright deli-bakery with high speed internet service and the cheapest long distance telephone rates. Stop in to catch up on your emails, for a light breakfast, lunch or fabulously fresh desert with coffee and meet friendly owners Mimi from Denmark & Daniel from Mexico DF. Telephone 52 (984) 873-5728

TREBOL SPORTS BAR & MARINA CAFE:on the marina. (formerly Jones Sports Bar) With the passing of Bill, this long standing watering hole has new owners, new attitude and a totally new look. Besides having the nicest restrooms of any restaurant or bar in Puerto, they serve some of the best dinners too. After 6:00 PM this comfortable sports bar transforms itself into a salon environment inside for evening sports fans and a linen clothed al fresco fine dining environment outside. (the steaks are delicious) Telephone 52 (984) 873-5381

CAFÉ OLE: street side across from Omni Hotel. Wide variety of dishes from Mexican to American with seafood and daily specials too. Try the Texas style bar-b-que and salad bar. Popular spot with locals and visitors alike, good food and fabulous home made pies. Owner's Gary and Gail bring in live music frequently and can often be found on stage with them. Telephone 52 (984) 873-5125

XENOTE:on the ocean in Omni hotel. Serving Mayan, Yucatecan and International dishes. Beautiful setting for quiet breakfast or romantic dinner. Dine in the comfort of Air Conditioning in their indoor restaurant, or dine outdoors on the patio enjoying the view. Telephone 52 (984) 875-1950

THE PUB:on the marina. The pub offers a ice cold beer and decent pub fare. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good food, daily specials, and decent prices make this a local favorite and worth finding. Ideal spot to settle in and watch the dolphin show Telephone 52 (984) 873-5130

MASSIMO: on the marina between Richards & Tiramusu. Chef/owner Massimo Forlani offers up absolutely delicious fresh Italian fare in a casual atmosphere. Most of the other restaurants in Puerto Aventuras have some dishes that are very good, but in my opinion, this restaurant is the all round best. phone 52 (984) 873-5418

OMNI BEACH BAR/CLUB:on the beach at Omni hotel. Aside from a private oceanfront villa rental, this just might be the best hang out in all of Puerto Aventuras. A bar with one side on the nicest beach in Puerto and the other side in the pool, PLUS delicious snacks and service to your lounge chair either on the beach or around the pool, AND great snorkeling right out front, make this a place you may not want to leave all day. (If the property owner you are renting from is not a member of this private club, you can purchase a day pass). Telephone 52 (984) 875-1950

WAHOO SPORTS BAR & GRILL:on the far side of marina next to gringo Daves. Cold drinks, hot bar-b-que, pool table and TV's broadcasting your favorite game. Bring in your catch of the day and they will prepare it for you here. I have only eaten here once and it was terrible!! The evening special was ' Kentucky fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and steamed vegetables for $10.00 The chicken was some kind of pre-made frozen out of the box variety that was dry and tasteless. The mashed potatoes were not even potatoes but those man made goo that hospitals pass off to people with no teeth. The gravy was out of a box and without flavor. The vegetables were of the frozen variety but proved to be the highlight because at least they were not overcooked.

TACO PACO: Moved south of Puerto Aventuras to the NEXT PEMEX gas station. The original much loved 'Paco' has moved on to Guadalajara but his delicious taco recipe carries on. Squeezed out of Puerto by the development but still close enough and the tacos good enough to make the trip. Serving up some of the best and freshest fish and shrimp tacos this side of Cabo, all made to order right in front of you.

ESENCIA: south of Puerto Aventuras a short distance on XpuHa beach. Exclusive restaurant in the boutique hotel of the same name. Reservations required 52 (984) 873-4835 or web site link Esencia

AL CIELO: south of Puerto Aventuras a short distance on XpuHa beach. Exclusive restaurant in the small hotel of the same name. Reservations required 52 (984) 840-9012 or web site link Al Cielo

I am also checking out other options for a wedding reception outside the Dreams Resort. So far I've looked at Xcaret, the ecological park. They have some gorgeous area to have a reception, but they are a bit pricey. In my search I have met a girl who's mom owns a home in Playa Del Carmen, (I think). Anyway she sounds really nice. She has emailed me some places that would be great for a wedding reception. We are still probably get married a the resrt, but depending what we find out we may go into Playa Del Carmen for the reception. I think it would be fun too for the guests since they will be eatin at the resorts restaurants all week. It all depends on money! (Yuk). Anyway the restaurant I am checking out now is Yaxche, pronounced Jag-Shey. They have beautiful garden terrace. Their website is: Playa del Carmen Restaurant Serving Mayan, Mexican, Seafood, and Vegetarian Dishes - Yaxche Maya Cuisine Restaurant Playa del Carmen Mexico. One thing I have noticed is very slow communication with alot of these places so be patient. This rest. was the girl I've been emailing her favorite restaurant in that area. She also seems to know the area very well. She also said Hemingway's is really excellent, but I had trouble getting to their website. Well I will keep everyone posted as to my findings. Good Luck!!!

Hi Ladies!! Just wanted to introduce myself (already posted over in newbies)...My fiance and I will be getting married 7/14/09 at Dreams PA...

We went through a pretty lengthy search process and finally decided on DPA a few weeks ago...got our wedding date and time confirmation from Jacy last week. Originally we were going to try and book Dreams Tulum, but the closures made us re-think. So keeping in the same price range for our guests we decided on Dreams PA.

I look forward to chatting with everyone on this thread!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
