Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

That looks familiar (not that I have ever been to the resort)... I think Dreams had a photo with little tables set up there and people being served by waiters. There might be a restaurant near it. They changed the photos on their website so I might need to do some googling to find it...

hmmm... nm, this is what I was thinking of.

Hi

I read somewhere on this site that with the Silver and Gold package, it includes only 20 people, and if you want extras it's $45/55, which is reflected in the wedding info they have on their site, however I read on here that you can chose to forgo your package and pay $20 pp and just get a regular menu. Is that true? if so where did that infomration come from?

Thanks,

Hi,
I haven't heard that, but I'd love to know if that is true because we cannot afford to pay if we're going to have 70-80 people coming!!
Thanks!

Those are the rates for the reception dinner at Dreams Tulum. Silver menu/ Gold menu... The $20 is just the regular menu. There are examples of the menus on the Dreams site. Those rates might be outdated tho, I think they went up. Rates at DPA will probably similar...

About the dinner prices... They have the prices that were mentioned on here on the DPA site... (Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort & Spa: Wedding Extras)

The prices are basically the same for all the Dreams Resorts. Take a look at that site to get some ideas about costs. I know Dreams Tulum has a nice "Wedding Guide" they send to the brides... I wonder if there is one in the works for us?

Hi ladies,

Bianca, I recognize your name from the Dreams Tulum thread. I'm not sure if you heard, but DT was just closed by the Mexican authorities due to permit/environmental issues. We're all crossing our fingers that it will re-open very soon and everything will be OK. I feel so bad for the brides that have upcoming weddings in October. I thought I'd be pro-active and look into DPA as an alternative resort since I'm not planning on getting married until May 7, 2009 (I emailed weddings@dreamspuertoaventuras.com.mx to check the availability of the date). However, I have to say that I'm so dissapointed in their photographer policy! I am very versed in Dreams Tulum's policies and I can assure you, they have no problem using outside vendors. If DPA will not allow my photographer (Freddy Damian from Claudia Rodriguez' team), then I will definitely not re-book here. What a dissapointment.

I have been emailing with Landy and Lizet at Dreams Tulum and they seem to be much more easy to converse with than the coordinators at DPA. All I can offer in advice is that each and every bride that was married at DT has come back and said, DON'T WORRY ABOUT PLANNING EVERY DETAIL AHEAD OF TIME! Once you arrive at the resort, planning was a breeze. I am sure that DPA will be similar for all of you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
