Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Ladies:

I need your help!!

What's the capacity of the El Patio restaurant?

I heard you cannot secure it until the week you get there - in case they absolutely need the space for the guests (that it might be sold out etc.).

Is there a max number of guests you can have booked with your wedding in order to secure it before you get down there?

We have 60 people booked.

OR is this only to make the restaurant private -- that you have to wait until you're down there. What if you only want semi-private?

PAST BRIDES: did you make it private or semi-private and what would be your suggestion for future brides?

  • 3 weeks later...

Since December, I have been trying to contact the WC at Dreams.

Unfortunately, Jacki is no longer the wedding coordinator at Dreams PA.

Sad news.

I received one email from the new coordinator to tell me this, but haven't gotten any of my questions answered.

The new wedding coordinator is:

Areli Arriaga
Wedding Coordinator

Has anyone else had any luck contacting them?

@@acosta any luck contacting the coordinator?

Hi LC13 - I have heard from the wedding coordinator.... I had three pending messages, and she wrote me back about two weeks, one friday night.

I haven't written back, so I don't know if the wait is still happening (I'm sure it is).

Areli is the new wedding coordinator and I contact her via this e-mail  <weddings.drepa@dreamsresorts.com>

@@acosta Thank you! I've been emailing them every other day but no response. I'll continue to bug them in hopes that I get at least a response.

Thank you

Sorry LC13 -- that's incredibly frustrating, especially with your wedding being so soon!

Go on their facebook page, the planners have their own page.

Search: "Drepa Wedding-Coordinators"

I would post on there.... :D

Just want to let you all know about an extremely frustrating situation I've been in over the last few months with the wedding department there.

I purchased and brought ALL of my decorations for my wedding from the US (cost a lot to ship down plus buy them in the first place - figuring they could be reused)... my wedding coordinator packed it all up for me and brought them to my parents room two days later - a day after my husband and i left for my honeymoon.

My parents left right then too assured that all decorations were there - they weren't. Our vases and table numbers were left behind, which ok, sucks, but they told us they would mail it to us immediately. Great for us because a cousin was going to use them for her wedding...

It's February... my wedding was in June. Now I'm seeing my decorations on Facebook for other weddings. So basically, the items I paid for are now being turned into a profit for other weddings... That is so unbelievably frustrating - especially when I was assured they were mailed out time and time again.

Our wedding was featured on 2 blogs and I gave a substantial amount of credit to the resort for their hard work... I really hate to feel lied to, especially when I feel like we gave them some more publicity. Regardless, all weddings deserve to have all of their items given back to them, and not turned into a profit.

I am sorry this happened to you!! That's really disappointing when you bring your own items, expecting them to go home with you, and now they're displayed on future weddings :(

I know over the holidays, the wedding department went through a change, but as I read your post, it was WAY before this happened :(

Sorry :(

I wonder if you post on their facebook page, it will give you some more attention....

Just heard back from the new coordinator... Apparently, according to her, it is customary for many brides to "leave decorations behind" for it to be used for subsequent weddings... Though I realize this is entirely true, based on the conversations I previously had, I always thought my things were in the mail... Even after I found them on Facebook, they still didn't send them back...

As a result, she said she "didn't know where they were" and would have to see if "they could even send them back".

Great. Nice profit making... You win some you lose some I guess. Just things like this wouldn't happen here, wedding coordinators would be embarrassed if they were caught renting out items accidentally left behind...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
