Hi everyone! I have been on this site for months, but now that I'm getting closer, I thought I'd post & maybe connect with some of you that could be there the week we get married!

 

Our wedding is August 5th & we will be there the 2nd-9th! We are currently at 59 adults including my fiance & I, and 2 children 6 & 10. 

We are planning on having our ceremony on the beach with a canopy & then I just changed my mind after looking at pictures, and am thinking about having my reception at Oceana!

Does anyone know if when you rent out the restaurant if they will allow children? On typical nights, it is an adults only restaurant. 

 

I've asked Jacki the coordinator and haven't heard back for a few days, so I'm getting really anxious because I've fallen in love with the place!

 

 

Thanks for your help, and I look forward to hearing if there are more August brides for DPA out there!

Just had my UNREAL dream wedding here this past Saturday, June 28th. We had the most amazing wedding. At my honeymoon at el dorado royale right now, so I will write more later. By the way, we miss dreams so much!!! El dorado is so massive and it's a good half mile walk to any restaurant. Thank god we had our wedding at a smaller resort-- we'd never see anyone at a bigger one!!!

I have a question for you ladies!   Did you all reserve a room block?  I am working with a travel agent, she has been fantastic so far but I recently lost my job and putting $1000.00 down to block 10 rooms seems like bad timing right now.  My travel agent said that since it is such a small resort that she is concerned about not doing the room block far in advance.

 

My wedding is Dec. 2015, do I have plenty of time to block the rooms?

We didn't reserve a block of rooms, actually didn't know we could! What we did is asked our parents and wedding party to place their deposits within 60 or 90 days after us. This secures your group rate. Then we sent out our STDs to everyone. We had some people book right away.

 

I personally wouldn't put the $1000 for the block of rooms. Not sure if you're friends and family are like ours but most of them all so unreliable. We have people who have told us yes they are coming but still make up excuses to why they don't place their deposit. And people who we thought for sure would come, aren't coming (including some family members).

 

However, I think you'll have plenty of time to do it later if you change your mind.

For any of you looking for a photographer in the area I wanted to share my feedback.


 


I am getting married at the Secrets Capri on November 7, 2014.  After a lot of research for photographers, we've decided to go with Octavio.  From my initial email to Octavio he has been very prompt in his replies and even called me to discuss details so that nothing was lost in email translation.  His prices are extremely reasonable and his work looks amazing.  I read several great reviews about Octavio and though we haven't had the photos done yet, all of the communicating and work we've done together this far has been extremely easy and I have no doubt he is going to do an amazing job!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
