Did you use have your MC keep things rolling on schedule?

I am concerned with the timeline and chain of events with there only being 3 hours for dinner, dancing etc.

we did not have an official MC.  i knew we had a short time period to get everything done, so i kind of worked with the wedding planner to make sure things kept moving myself. we did pay for the extra hours at the reception too which were worth it to us. the reception still seemed to go by very quickly.

Hello Dreams Puerto Aventuras brides! Congrats on your upcoming weddings! :) This post is for any brides interested in affordable unique decor for your big day.

I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices.

I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames, table runners, rustic birdcages, string lighting and even a portable sound system. A lot of these items are very hard to find down here, and many brides have been happy to find my collection of wedding decor.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Mexico without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! So far no one has had to pay an outside vendor fee at all, as they tell their WC that they have brought the decor themselves. I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings, please send me photos of anything you'd like to sell!

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa Del Carmen for two years and know the whole coast quite well. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a couple of photos of some items we used in our wedding and that are for rent, but I have lots more:

Mrshks...what is your email address? I will be getting married at PDA May 2015 and am definitely considering renting some of your stuff! (Love the lanterns)

Also, if anyone has the price sheet can you send it to me? Karenandscott2015@@gmail.com

I'm over a year away and am growing more and more excited! Any tips or advice is appreciated. I've already booked our stay, bought my dress, and pretty much have my colours (guys will be in navy blue, bridesmaids in mint colour dresses, with touches of pink in the flowers and decorations.

Did anyone ship their decoration to the resort beforehand? If so, how much did it cost? I live just outside of Toronto, Canada.

@@shelikespink I'm here at dreams PA now scoping out the venue! I am booked for June and we have appx 60-70 people attending. 100+ might be hard. This is my 3rd time in Mexico and I travel often... It's a much smaller resort but just perfect for weddings. There might be locations for the reception that can accommodate 100+ but I'm not totally sure. I will say the gated community is so quaint and beautiful-- much different than cancun but we love it!

Yeah that's what I thought.. I have contacted Isabel and I'm waiting to hear back! She sent me all the price lists and deposit forms right away so hopefully I'll hear back soon! I am also planning a 2015 (summer) wedding so I know I still have some time, but it would be a huge stress off my shoulders to have the location/date set.

Hey ladies, I just finished my five page detailed review for Dreams PA from my wedding on Jan 20, 2014. Here's the link!

I would love to hear all about your wedding @@jrack

Also, does anyone know if there is a max # of guests at Dreams? I noticed all the packages say up to 70 people.. and I'm expecting 100+. Can Dreams PA accommodate a big wedding?

Here it is:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
