Dreams Puerto Aventuras Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

We had a group of 26 and did not feel that the place was too big.  I think 40 would be fine.  We decided on the restaurant becuase the beach was so open and not private at all.  Everyone was walking by and watching.  Same with Oceana.  We got 2 extra hours and had dinner served and definitely glad we did.  People were still dancing at the end, so we moved the party to the night club.  The night club is pretty small, has pool tables and tvs so it's also a sports bar.  It is pretty fun, we went there the night we arrived for karaoke.  Not sure about theme nights?  We didn't participate in a lot of the resort activities because we were so busy. The food at the wedding was the best!  We have the beef fillet with lobster, the beef was awesome.  Best meal we had all week.

I honestly can't remember what exactly the officiant said...we had a non religious ceremony and he definitely complied with that. Unfortunately he had a bit of a stronger accent than I am used to, so I really had to focus to hear and understand him. He did a nice job though. We gave a copy of our vows to Jacki, who gave them to him for us to repeat. I am glad that my husband and I looked them over quite a few times before the ceremony, so we could remember pretty much what we had to say. Your nerves definitely get to you! Personally, I was glad to have scripted vows, due to nerves mostly.

the officiant we used (provided by the resort) was amazing. we got so many compliments on what a great job he did and he was a pleasure to email with before we arrived down there.  his name was alejandro monroy.  he had a set script for what he wanted to say and did not share it with us before we arrived becuase he said he wanted us to hear it for the first time when we were there and really listen to the words. he was very open to us providing things we wanted read and so forth though.

I agree, we also had Alejandro and the script was great.  I did email him beforehand and he was very quick to respond.  He did not share the script, and I enjoyed the surprise.  We had a non-religious ceremony but he did read the common bible reading from corinthians about love.  He didn't introduce it as from the bible and the reading is really not religious sounding.  We wrote our own vows and he told us when to read them.  We also had a friend read a poem which he forgot about but I was able to remind him at the end before we signed the papers.  Make sure you remind Jacki before hand if you will be having something different like that.  I agree it was hard for us to hear what he was saying but overall it was very nice.

I didn't get the sashes but I think it was $6 each.

I had a bonfire and you could probably have a welcome party without the fire.  They do provide marshmallows for roasting which is kinda fun but I wouldn't say it made the party.  We added the fire show onto our bonfire which was expensive ($600?  cant remember) and that is what everyone was talking about.

If anyone is in the Calgary area and wants to sell their chair sashes please let me know.  I am looking for a purple/pink hue in organza or linen.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
