Hi Katie! I'm also getting married at DPA on 11/10.  You have a lot planned already! We actually decided against using the resort photographer and are bringing a photographer with us.  To me it seems like such a better deal.  Who are you doing the booze cruise through?

Hey Ladies, I can't believe that we leave on Saturday!!! I have some last minute questions for those of you already married at DPA.

 

I'm so stumped on who to tip!? I have read through other threads and some brides seemed to have tipped everyone involved in their wedding, but to me it seems like that would add up pretty quickly.

 

This is what I am thinking...........

 

- WC - $100

- Hair stylist - $10-15

- Waiters at the reception - $10 each

- Bartender at the reception - $20

- Mariachi band (6 person) - $5  each

 

Photographer?????  Ladies do I tip him? I am already paying him soooooooo much money!

 

Do I tip the Judge who will be marrying us? I'm thinking no, but I have heard of some other brides who have.

 

We are not having a DJ so I don't need to worry about that. Am I forgetting anyone? Please help!

 

Anyone opinions gladly accepted. Feel free to comment whether you think I am tipping too much or too little!

You must be getting so excited!!!

 

I was pretty unsure of tipping as well, but this is what we did:

 

WC (Jackie): $100

Hair Stylist: $15 

I think Calvin gave the waiters and bartender $10 each. Might have been $5 though, I'm not really sure

 

We didn't tip the wedding judge, as there was a fee for her to do our wedding already.

 

We also did not tip our photographer as they set their own fees and they are definitely not cheap!

 

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about it anyway! Just tip what you feel is comfortable for you. They are all so wonderful and don't expect a tip, so anything you give them is a bonus

Hi Julie....the resort is so amazing, everything I could of ever asked for and more. While we were there we only saw people have their receptions either right on the beach or at the Marina Terrace (adults only) which is were we had ours. Not sure what type of room you have booked but ask for an upgrade to a master suite its amazing...i have pictures of the room on there. Ask me any questions after you look at the pics....

katie our wedding was the most amazing day. I could not of asked for anything more...everything went to plan, no hiccups...Jacki my Wc was so awesome. Don't be nervous about anything girl, It will be amazing! I promise!! Jacki kept telling me that & it was driving me crazy but she was so right. They do so many weddings that u feel ignored sometimes but I couldn't have asked for more. Just a note to all the ladies too, keep in mind I'm a pretty easy-going person & I was just happy to be marrying my bestie, but we used the resorts photographer & she was fantastic! We also used the resorts DJ & he was great too. The pics we got are drop-dead amazing, which is a miracle because we are both sooo un-photogenic lol! If you wanna ask anything just let me know
