We really have been slacking haven't we!!?? lol

Less than a month for me until the big day!!  My fiance is just wearing one of his Calvin Klein suits that he already owns. He bought it last year for our trip to vegas and it looks really nice so to save money we are just going with that. Black pants, white shirt, black vest, etc. I am not sure if he plans on wearing the coat or not.. I imagine he will be pretty hot if he does, but he is considering wearing it for just the ceremony.. but may just wear the vest instead.. so that he looks different than the groomsmen.  They will be in black pants with white shirts  :)

MrsRobinson, I love what you have them wearing!!  Beachy but very nice! Too bad it's so expensive, but I am sure it will be worth it!!

Well they fitted my dress for shoes with a 3.5 inch heel, but I may still go barefoot for the ceremony. Or wear my favourite flip flips that I have had for 10 years, hahaha.  And then put the shoes on for pictures and for the reception, but I'll make up my mind once I get there.

I had the HARDEST time finding 3.5 inch heels that I like though. I wanted a fuchsia pair and I was starting to give up, but after my boudoir shoot on Tuesday, I decided to go to the mall and I found some at Nine West!! So happy!

DPA Ladies!

Alison, you're getting married in less than a month, you must be getting so excited!!! Oh and I love your shoes, I am looking for fuchsia heels as well, I may have to go to my local nin west store :)

I was wondering what you ladies are doing for your bouquet? Are you picking one from the resort catalouge? A bride on here emailed me the flower catalouge, but I was wondering if anyone knows if colours can be changed? I like some of the bouquet arrangements but not necessarily the colours!

I think I am going to go ahead and order my FI a linen suit from studio suits. There are some great reviiews and some not so great reviews on here about them, but I think I may chance it.

Thanks Aliie! Nine West always make such nice shoes!! And yes I am getting sooooo excited!!! :)

Are any of you ladies bringing a guest book for people to sign? I mentioned it to my FI and it thought it would be a nice idea, but I'm not really sure where to get one, any ideas?

For my bouquet, I decided to just order from wedideas.com.  I ordered from the "ready to go" items because I procrastinated until the very last minute, and they actually aren't even here yet, hahaha. They have been shipped though, so they should be here within the week. I'll post pictures when they come in.

I decided to do this for 2 reasons!  a) I also didn't like the resort flowers, they just weren't bright enough for me

and B) They won't wilt, so I am using the BMs bouquets as centerpieces after! Since 8-10 people can be seated per table, we will only need 3  guest tables, not including the head table, so I'll just reuse their bouquets, and bring some candles or something.

Oh! I also have a file Jacki sent me of all the centrepieces the resort offers! The one I liked was $150.. so it was a little steep for me, but some of them may not be as expensive.   If you want me to email it to you, just let me know!

Hey Alison,

Great idea about using the BM's bouquets for the centerpiece flowers, I am also considering doing this. However, I am still interested in the resort centerpieces. Another bride sent me the centerpiece file, but I have no idea what the prices are! I also can't justify spending $150 for a centerpeice. Is there a separate file with all the prices, or did Jacki just send you a quote for the one you liked?

If you have a price list can you send it to me? allison.burns@utoronto.ca

Hey Allison,

unfortunately she didn't send me a file with all the prices. Really would have been helpful though.

I am trying to get prices to just rent vases, but instead of just answering me, she keeps asking other questions...  like what kind of flowers I'm bringing etc., so that she knows what size of vase I need.  I know she's just trying to be helpful, but I just wanted prices for small, medium, and large vases so I could have a basic idea of cost.  arrgg

Yes, I can see how that would be frustrating! I really am thinking that I may do the same as you; use BM's bouquets as centrepieces. If Jacki does let you know the prices of vase rentals can you post them on here?

My biggest problem right now is that I keep changing my mind about decoration and flowers colours! I need to just pick a theme and stick to it lol :)

Wow, I'm a newbie here & seriously wish I found this sight months ago!! We're getting married on April 20th, 2012. All of you ladies seem sooooooooo much more organized than I am! It doesn't help that I barely ever get a response from Sandra & if I do it's not exactly helpful lol. Has anybody hired an outside DJ? I am a wedding DJ in Canada & I feel that $220/hr is an absolute rip-off!!! Any advice?

PS - congrats to all of you ladies on your engagements! Despite the lack of correspondence I truly feel like this is one of the best places ever to get married! xo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
