We aren't having a reception in Mexico, just going to party in the pool or all go to a restaurant or something, not a big group traveling with us.  We are having our ceremony on the beach (not the gazebo) and I'm pretty much thinking the ipod dock route also... if any music at all. I'm stumped.

I wouldn't worry about music if I were you since you aren't having a reception. If anything bring your iPod just in case. A friend of mine has been to this resort and she says they have cool clubs. So instead if having a reception I think it wud bd cool to grab dinner and go out to the bars and party after!!!!oop

Hi ladies! In regards to music, I have hired DJ Doremixx for our reception and they will also be providing me with sound system for the ceremony. If anyone needs info on any of my vendors, I would love to share....I'm very happy with all the decisions I have made so far. I always have lots of questions for Jacy and she usually takes a couple of days to answer, but she always does. I usually gather a bunch of questions and just send them all at once, one question per line...I just feel it's easier for her this way...anyway...if I can help in any way please let me know

Hey M&D2011, that is awesome we will be there at the same time. All of our guests are leaving on June13th so we will have a lot of free time :) We def will have to get together. It sounds like things are going very well for you w/ the planning.  I wish I was more on the ball like you. I am such a procrastinator and I am terrible about making decisions. I love your save the dates. We did a similar thing but ours are for the invitation and not save the date. What Wedding package did you go with? and what are you doing about flowers?

Hi AsiaJane, I havent' chosen a package yet, I'm waiting to see how many people will actually come to the wedding. Jacy said it's ok to choose later. I'm getting the free package anyways because of the amount of rooms I already have booked. Here are some info on my vendors:

1 - Photographer: Sascha Gluck, I'm super excited to work with him. I love his work. He will do 5 hours on wedding day and the next day we will do a TTD at cenote

2 - DJ: Doremixx, they will be bringing sound system for ceremony as well as recepion

3 - Make Up/Hair: Adrian Guerra - Styling Trio Riviera Maya. i def wanted to get a perfect professional, and all I can say is that i loved the whole negotiation with Adrian, he is awesome, he is also doing all my bridesmaids and moms

4 - Welcome dinner on friday - I'm still deciding this one, I may rent one of the restaurants or do a catamaran sunset cruise. I originally wanted to take all guests to playa, but it became expensive to charter a bus.

5 - Flowers: this is a big one, I'm working on quotes right now, I'm either going to get silk orchids for  or i will get this florist i found here on this website, marvin j ku kinil from maya diseno floral. or once jacy sends me a quote, just with the resort

the problem with getting this many outside vendors is that i have to pay $55 for each to come in. i'm trying to negotiate that with Jacy right now...we will see what happens

let me know if you have any questions. I've been emailing jacy for a while now, so i have lots of answers from her :) i'm a control freak if you havent notice yet :)

Hello,

We haven't booked just yet, but my fiance and I are strongly considering getting married at this resort in Nov 2011. We will have approx. 25 family and friends with us, who will all be staying at the resort for 1 week.

Any pros, cons, tips, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

We will be making our final decision in the next couple weeks.

Thanks so much!

Hey m&d2011,

OMG you are so organized. I'm so jealous. I should hire you :) Thank you for all the info. I am very interested in getting Adrian Guerra's info from you. Hair and Makeup is one thing that is important to me. I'm sure I will have a few more questions for you soon! I love that you are on the ball. You are really motivating me to get things moving. I can't wait to get married!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Hi JLMS,

Congrats on the wedding and Welcome to the forum. I can only speak for myself but I think picking DPA was the best decision I ever made. I've only heard great things on this site about this resort and I've had nothing but a good experience with dealing with the resort.  A friend of mine stayed here and loved it and she referred me to the DPA.  I havenâ€t had my wedding yet so I canâ€t say it will be amazing but from what all the other girls who have gone before say, the weddings here are pretty spectacular. You should read some of the earlier post. The girls that have been married rate their wedding experiences. Maybe that will help you out. Good luck!!

So I definitely feel behind! I don't even have a dress picked out!  To those that are getting married april, may, or june... are you going with a short or long dress. Are you going to change for reception? I definitely think a long dress has more of a bride feel to it. I just worry about sweating in it, if our wedding is on the beach and the reception is on the beachembarrest.gif

We have 8 adults and 4 kids booked so far, I am still thinking about going with the Ultimate for the simplicity of it. The most important things to me are pictures, food and cocktails, music (being able to hook up our Ipod docking station to electricity) and I think the mariachi band would be super fun!!

Here is the time line I was thinking of. What do you girls think?

3pm-330 wedding ceremony on beach

3:30-4:30 cocktail hr while we are getting pictures beach

4:30-5:30 cocktail hr with appetizers and maybe the mariachi band (depending on if we go with the ultimate wedding) beach

5:30-6 freshen up, maybe change

6pm dinner at gazebo (unfortunately this is probably going to be on the beach or poolside because there is another wedding at 5pm:-()

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
