Does anyone know if the resort usually charges to use the sound system at the ceremony and reception? I think its included in the ceremony for no extra charge and I know that there is charge to use it at the reception on the wedding guide Jacy sent me. But I've also heard that they usually don't end up charging.

I'm wondering if its worth buying my own and bringing it with me.

I'd heard that there was a charge to use the sound system any time other than the ceremony but I'm not sure about whether it would be included in the packages other than the basic/free one that we went with. I took down a small set of speakers and plugged an ipod into them and because we were inside for our reception it was definitely enough for us. I think other than being inside/outside the next issue would be how many guests you had. Our group was about 35 people so even when we got louder, it still wasn't a huge racket. I think I spent about $40 on the speakers which obviously is a HUGE difference from the price it would have been for us to pay for their equipment.

Jacy sent me some more info. She said it was $300 to use the sound system for the reception. I'm still thinking we may have the reception outside, but for $300 I'm sure I can buy my own system that will be plenty loud enough.

Did you get charged for delivering OOT bags? I know it say that it is a $2/room charge, but I thought I read on here that they didn't end up charging people for that. I asked Jacy and she told me they always charge. Bummer.

Also one of the girls who went for the site visit said that the OOT bags get delivered on the guest second day because of possible room changes. I want them there when they arrive to the room. There are things in my bags that I want the guest to have immediately ie:key card holders, welcome letters. If someone changes their room they can take the bag it's not huge or extremely heavy. I think I will deal with the manager on that issue. As far as not charging and price differences I think it's just luck.....they probable forget with some.

Hi Everyone!

I am new to this site and am getting married at DPA December 3, 2010. We just decided this in June, so I have alot of planning to do in a short time :) I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for items for OOT bags for single guys. And also what to use for the bag itself (I have nice beach totes for all the other guests but I feel they are a little too girly for a guy on his own.

Also, does anyone know if chair sashes are included in the Ultimate Pkg? I couldn't tell by the email and pictures Jacy sent me.

As far as the OOT bags for the men I ordered nylon draw-string back packs off of ebay....payed under $20 for 6 of them!  My bags for the rest of the guest are definately not appropriate for the single guys.  As far as what I'm putting in them......my items are pretty neutral:beach towel, travel candle (coconut lime scent), koozies, hangover kits, candy and CDs.

I believe that the only linens included in the package are the white clothes, napkins and covers for the chairs.  You can find sashes on-line for cheap.....do a google search for wedding linens. Also Jacy said that we could rent any colored linens if we want.

Welcome to the forum!!!!

For single guys you could use a cooler bag.  You know like the ones that are insulated and zip up?  I've seen some at target in the dollar bin that are large lunch box size.  If you pack strategically you could fit most things in them I image.  That's what I thought about doing for this single guys at my wedding.  But I don't have a lot and figured they are too hard to please anyways.  So they are getting girly beach bags like everyone else.  Hopefully they will still like what's inside, I didn't go too girly there.

As for chair covers, I've seen them online and there is a thread here for sash sharing (not sure how well that works though).  I'm just buying fabric and cutting them myself.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
