I'm know you have it now but just in case, I posted her new address in post 169. She's quite lovely...tell her I say hi!

I'd have to agree with the comments about a real flower wilting. Plus if it's a little windy like it sounds to be at the gazebo, a silk flower would definitely hold up better than a real one.

And I have to point out that as of today my ticker is now counting in DAYS and that has me very excited!!! It's just 26 days until we leave now and I'm trying to figure out the things that I'm missing on my to-do list! I feel like I should have a bunch but for whatever reason, I just don't - it's unnerving!
Hi gals-
I had a real flower (a lily) and it stood up against the wind and the night just fine. I did snip the pollen bunches out so it wouldn't stain my dress though. I didn't pay for it and just took the chance there were extra flowers around...

"poolside" last summer. I probably just confused you ladies more... sorry!! But if any of the recent brides have the answer, that would help :)
Ginalyn you're right. The "lagoon" is the natural pool. This is where I wanted my reception at 1st however, when we were there, the smell of the algae under Barracuda bar was off-putting.

Poolside is by the Adult Pool where we were scheduled to have our reception. Its by Oceana, very lovely. After speaking to Dee, (Dee changed her original location after talking to me about where mine was!!) it was quite cold there so I had my above Portofino. It was excellent. We had 1 long table, dimmed lighting, the floating candles with calla lilies and it was private. A good choice. Thanks agin Dee for the tip!

Bridej9 and Meghan.... it's so exciting that you are counting down in days now! Meghan it's awesome that your to-do list isn't very long. I literally can barely wait to hear your reviews!

As for me, my bridal shower and bachelorette party is this Saturday. I can't believe it's here already :).

Well I'm glad that my to-do list sounds shorter coming out than it does in my head! I honestly don't feel that way at all. The good news is that I'm working on the assembly of my OOT bags (haha I'm classy and putting them all in ziplock bags until we're ready to hand them out in the real bags - I need to know all the items are contained and won't fall out in the process!!), and am 80% finished my DIY favours for our guests. I think all I have to finish printing out are some tags for the bags so I know who gets what - don't think the grandparents would enjoy a few of the contents we included for our friends :)

Those were pretty much the last couple things to get done at home before packing. I also have to pick up my ring this weekend and go in for my second dress fitting. I'd really love to be able to have all the bits and pieces done this weekend so I can focus on getting all the pieces organized!!!

Oh thank you for the heads up about the lagoon! What is it like above Portofino? Is it outdoors? Like a roof top deck? I really want to take advantage of the beautiful scenery and have it outside.

Hi Janine-
Jacy and her team made it so lovely up there. I too wanted it outside, I totally understand what you mean and what you're after. The wind was cool when I went in March so having it indoors took away the worry that my guests and the food would be cold. There is a small outside deck where we mingled, and folks could go in and out if they wanted to. We also had our champagne cocktail hr above Portofino too. There were flowers everywhere, the lighting was nice, and the food was hot. Let me know how I can help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
