Expedia may only have one package left at that lower price so when your first set of guests book with them the price will jump up and continue to do so as more and more people book. TA"s will price match but you just have to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Group rates do not always mean lower prices but they do mean you have a block of space reserved at set price for all of your guests which is why a lot of brides book that way. If you tell your guests to book with Expedia that price could be gone by tomorrow.
Yes... this is what happened and our travel agent explained it to me... I have no idea about all of this stuff! But it is because of the group rate, and she was saying that once people book the price can go up and so on... so now I understand a little better. I also called another agent and he said pretty much the same thing... so... we will see what happens!

ahhh ... that makes a lot of sense.

expedia's price for me was cheaper too, but they only had a flight that left at 8am my last day in cancun, and that sucks. i'm hoping for a late checkout that last day! also there were crazy long layovers for the trip home ... we'd be traveling all day long! i guess, as with most things, you get what you pay for!
