advise please on Punta Cana resorts..

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

My Fi and I are planning our wedding for next summer in Punta Cana, I can't decide on a resort, we have been looking at Majestic , Edenh and PPR, I like all three is just that PPR is a little more pricey and might be a bit of a prob for many of the guests flying from many parts of US. I feel this is why i worry more and i would like to know if this is something i should really be worrying about? I really like this resort. Also can anyone that has been working with any of these resorts spare some great helpful info or pics...

Thank you guys..

Ana n Alex

I'm very excited.. :)

I ended up chosing a resort that was more expensive than what I had originally set out to pay. At the end of the day I really loved the Majestic Elegance and I knew the people close and dear to me would pay more. You may end up having a few less people if you chose a place more expensive but always remember it's YOUR wedding. You will remember this day for the rest of your life so go with what makes you happy!

I considered the PPR but it was really too expensive from my city, it's a gorgeous hotel!

I had my wedding at the Paradisus Punta Cana and it was absolutely beautiful its a little bit cheaper than the PPR but just as nice. If you choose this resort you will be very thankful that you spent the extra couple of dollars because the others really dont compare.

I can only speak to PPC and PPR, but we loved both. HOWEVER ... when we go back, we will return to PPC ... because it was more FUN! It's definitely not as luxurious as PPR, unless you stay in the Reserve, but that's a trolley ride to the beach area. We LOVED the nightlife options at PPC and were disappointed with the lack of nightlife/activities at PPR -- but it also really all depends on what you are looking for.

We chose Dreams punta cana because of the family friendliness as we have children going. My travel agent recommended the majestic colonial first off before she knew I had done some homework. The price was the other choice for us. But if we ever go back I would like to stay at the Majestic or the excellce.

You need to remember that it is your wedding and everyone isn't going to make it no mater what resort and what the cost is. You need to decide what is more important to you, the location and setting of your wedding, the place you really want, or the number of guests you have. If you let people you really want there know the approximate price, they still have a lot of time to save to go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
