So glad I stumbled upon this thread. I'm not alone! smile123.gif We've decided on April 2010. I thought for a while there that I was a little crazy getting so excited and planning so early. We're pretty much settled on a resort, just waiting until early 2009 to book. My travel agent told me that I won't be able to start booking until then.

Any of you guys had any luck with photographers yet? My FI and I are still debating whether to go with a local photographer or bring someone down.

We are booking Sol Tamargo of Del Sol!! I am so excited about it. My FI is in love with the TTD pics. We have not booked officially because she takes reservations only one year in advance. FI has been in contact with her though and is now on the mailing list for updates.

April-May 2010 for us :-) We're not sure of the exact date, but hopefully I'll know after visiting Bermuda during the last week of October. I can't wait!

I sometimes feel silly since it is so far away... but I rather brainstorm now then wait to the last minute. as others have mentioned... plenty of time to change my mind and save $$

I'm a May 2010 bride, no definite date or place set yet... I'm glad I found this thread because my potential TA spoke to me and was like, "well I'll call you back in March 2009 to start planning..." I was like, "oh sad.gif"

I have been planning to get married 2009 since February when I got engaged and my best friend changed her wedding date to June 2009 so I had to move my year sad.gif

I wish I knew at least where I wanted to get married! I have one idea but my TA didn't recommend it because they are brand new (almost).

Good luck to everyone and happy planning!

KittenHeart I heard the same thing about not being able to officially book a venue until early 2009 smile35.gif

I wonder if its because room rates change and are not official until later. I'm so impatient and too excited to get married that I want to get everything done now, haha!

But most of the resorts I have looked into seem very prepared and used to doing weddings, so hopefully booking our weddings won't be a problem.

Happy planning everyone!

August, 2010, in St. Thomas. My fiance wants it to be on 8/9/10 so that he can remember the date...LOL...so that's a possibility.

We'll have the ceremony on the beach at my timeshare resort, but I've been scouring the internet looking for caterers and/or venues for the after-ceremony party. I want to have some solid ideas when I go back down there next August so I can hopefully finalize some things.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
