Any other 2010 Brides out there????

Recommended Posts

Hey Y'all! Jeremy and I are getting married May 5, 2010 and have a lot to get done and lots of time to save money! It's better to start early then late! It's all so exciting and exhausting at the same time. Trying to convience my fiancee to get a planner for the reception sucks....any thoughts on how I can get him to agree we need one!

Hi All!!! I plan on getting married on May 22, 2010. It was supposed to be October 30, 2009 but FI wanted to push so we can save more money so I gave in. I'm glad I did though because I was already feeling that one year pressure. It is very important to begin planning as soon as you can so you can enjoy it better and feel less stressed.

Not sure if I'm getting married in 2009 or 2010. We wanted to get a date in September since that's the month we met and then met again (a year later) and started dating. Seems like Sept 2009 might be too soon though since I have not started ANY planning. It seems like the more elaborate the wedding then the more time is needed and futher the date needs to be pushed out.

I mentioned eloping like Heidi and Spencer (ha ha!), but he wants his family and friends there so there will be some planning involved. I would like us to be in the position to be able to pay for the guests lodging to ease the financial burden on them since they're all going to be traveling (very small wedding so not THAT big of a deal but will require some $$). Has anyone else done this? Are the group discounts at hotels/resorts decent?

Does anyone know if the day of the week (i.e. Friday, Saturday, Sunday) you get married is as important with a DW since everyone is there with you anyway and not working for the next few days? Just wondering.

Hey girls! We are still trying to decide on where our DW will be. Sandals, St. Lucia (my choice) or Napa Valley (FH's choice). We have set a deadline of Valentine's day to decide. It is in Michael's hands. His family is all in California....and we are in Illinois. I know Napa is his choice because more of his family and friends will be able to attend. I just need a destination to start planning!!!!!

We plan on getting married in 2010.. Only because we wanted to give all our family and friends a heads up. But I'm getting frustrated because there are no prices for 2010 yet. I don't want to use 2009, because they can change so much...

I also can't decide on a resort... We want the Mayan Riveria, but there are so many resorts to choose from.. My latest is the Riu Palace, but I have to do a little more digging first..

Bajabride2010 - I don't think you have started to soon at all. I am planning on getting married dec 2010 and I have already started to purchase a few items, I feel it will help with the costs if I just buy a little at a time. I have picked out everything and narrowed my choices down to about 5 dresses, I don't plan on buying my dress or MOH until early 2010. I am at the point now that I am just waiting - waiting for the dates to be released, waiting for the prices, etc etc etc

Happy Planning

We are planning on getting married at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun on April 24, 2010!!! We've been there before and really love it! I'm glad I have a lot of time to do DIY projects and not stress on everything getting done ASAP. Plus it gives us and our guests time to save up :) I'm still trying to decide when I should send out STDs and Invitations etc... I've gotten a few things and have done a little research on photographers etc. (still have not decided who we want and can afford). It will be here before you know it so I'm glad I have time to plan! So fun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
