I had the craziest doctor appt...OMG!

OMG, so I just got back from an appointment with a OB/GYN. I found him via my insurance website.

I walk in and there is a sign on the door stated "I am no longer perscribing bc pills due to my religious beliefs." I was shocked and don't know why I didn't run then.

I meet with him and he then asked me if I was Catholic, I told him I was. He then says that I should not be having sex before marriage and that I should go off the pill. OMG! He then said I need to go to confession and I will feel better.

Okay, seriously, I am in shock. Can you believe this? I felt like I was on candid camera!

Ummm, I'm quite sure that doctors are not supposed to put their personal ethical or religious beliefs on their patients like that! What if you said you weren't Catholic - would he have turned you away or tried to convert you? That is weird! You might want to mention your experience to the governing body for physicians in your state. In Canada there is the Canadian College for Physicians and Surgeons and each province has a website for the practicing physicians in the province. That is messed up of him! Mention it to your insurance company too! They should know about what he's doing!

hahaa Yari. That's ridiculously funny. WTH- I can't see this as the best profession for him considering a majority of his patients will most likely be having sex before marriage AND wanting BC. LOL soo funny.

I thought I had a quack of a doctor a few months ago when I wanted blood testing for my thyroid and he started talking to me about how I'm not properly using my college degree then went off about me not wanting to be on BC because I was thinking of having kids in a year or so. He ranted about how I could possibly end up pregnant. I was like "ya- so? I just got married dude. I'm not concerned." That was my last visit there. I don't want lectures, thank you much.

Your visit was BY far the worser of the two. Great story though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
