Rehearsal Dinner To Do's

Recommended Posts

Okay now I've decided to to a private rehearsal dinner on the beach!! What have y'all done for a private dinner like this? I asked if we could get a sound system for music (IPOD). But what else? DO we have to arrange centerpieces and all? We are having a buffet dinner. Will candles even work near the beach, with the wind and all?

How did your rehearsal dinner go?

Any tips? Thanks!!!

I would see what the resort has already, the beach itself is decor right. maybe get some votive and some starfish. nothing too flashy, you don't want it to compete with your big day.

We are doing our rehearsal dinner in doors at Dreams (Portofino) but we are having it be a Mexican theme. They are covering the tables for us with Mexican blankets and we are using the white candles they already have. I am creating really cheap bright place cards. I'll post shortly. We are renting a sound system from them for Ipod and microphone for speeches. Our goal is to not have to do much for the rehearsal dinner, so I would suggest to check with what the resort can provide you as Christine mentioned.

Except for being a flower girl twice, this is my first time in a wedding party. What happens at the dinner rehearsal? Like is there any speeches or practice to see where everyone sits?

I am totally CLUELESS! haha

LOL me too! I'm not having one for that reason, we'll just break off at the welcome dinner to discuss the order but that's about it. It's hard to get to my wedding site so I think a rehearsal is out even if I tried.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
