Dreams Votive Question

Recommended Posts

All the Cabo Dreams ladies -

I am looking at votives, trying to decide if I want to bring them down or use what they have there. Are any of you/have you used votives as part of your decor? If so, how many are you using? The ones I'm looking at are $40 for 72 red votives. I don't know if it what route will be cheaper and I don't know how many I'll need.

Well as of right now I'm bringing down 72 votives with candles in them already packaged. got at michaels. plus 70 votives for place cards as well! and probably going to bring some more down! I have no idea what the prices are down there! I might email mariana and see.

Kate - I am also undecided about this. I need votives for my luminarias and already have so much stuff to bring down that I'd rather have Maye or Mariana get them for me. I'll ask them & let you know. let me know what you decide too.

kate, can you bring stuff down on your site visit and have mariana hold them for you so it is less to bring before the wedding?

Here's my 2 cents: You will always come out cheaper bringing your own votives and candles. Dreams fee is not per table but per votive. Yes, per votive. The average reception table alone will have 4 or 5.

I am planning to bring the prepackaged votives and holders with me. Quantity is still unknown but I intend on 5 for each table.

The dollar trees in my area have just started carrying the battery operated candle lights. That's another great option!

Maye is taking care of my centerpieces for me which will be $12 each & includes a hurricane with sand, large candle & 5 votives. I am also buying shells from her to sprinkle around the table & I have my starfish place cards. I hope that's enough for a centerpiece. Anyway, I think the $12 is a good price which will include 5 votives.

I do need to price out individual votives for the luminarias. I want candles everywhere so I will ask her for her prices. $2.50 per votive seems like way too much!!! But it's one of those things that becomes a pain to carry down...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
