The church is on YouTube? Cool, I have to check it out. As for the decorations-2 flower pedestals in the front and flameless candles all along the walkway of the church. It was not my idea. I think I mentioned in my previous post that did not post that the wedding coordinator at el convento (Adriana Soto) has been great. Last Tuesday when we met with her she scheduled meetings with vendors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It was great! She has good ideas also. I did basically whatever she suggested. She has been a relief. I was able to see a wedding begin at the church a few months ago and it had very simple decorations in the church. They tied organza type bows on some of the pews. VERY pretty!

My wedding was fabulous!!!! I absolutely loved it. It rained the day before & the day after so we picked the perfect weekend. I was married in their courtyard & I loved the location. Plus, it was great just walking into our reception hall.

For my hair & makeup, I'm originally from PR so I went to a beauty salon in my hometown.

If you're looking for vendors, I would recommend using Bodas Puerto Rico | Bodaclickpr

It is in Spanish but I found a couple of the companies I hired on there.

I considered hiring a Makeup/Hair lady because her work looked beautiful, she has a foto gallery there.

I believe her name is Mayra Sanchez.

Go to the website & click on the tab on the top that says Bodas Puerto Ricio Guia de suplidores de boda. Vendors will be listed by category on the left hand side. Clickon Belleza & Salud para Novias & then the bullet point Peinado & Maquillaje.

There are a couple of options for you there & I believe they all have picture galleries.

Good luck!

Thanks again for the information - I won't get to go to PR until June and meanwhile I feel like I'm signing my life away with all of these deposits! For the wedding coordinator at El Convento - are her services included with the reception or did you have to hire her independently? I'm planning on having my reception at El Convento and they didn't mention the wedding coordinator - so I'm just curious. I've been working with another wedding planner down there who has been helpful. One more question for you - what are you doing for music in the church?

Thanks Latinhunny for the advice! I will check that website out. Uconncruiser, the wedding coordinator is not included in the costs of the reception hall. She has different packagaes. It may be on their website but I am not sure.

As for the ceremony music the coordinator found us a violinist and pianist. They play together. We may have a soprano singing the ave maria. So much to do right?! We booked a DJ for the reception.

Wedding planners are not included in your wedding package but the girls there will help you with anything you need.

For our ceremony, we contracted a band for our reception & they played our ceremony music.

Evie, violinist, pianist & a soprano singing sound beautiful!

Evie & Latinhunny - thanks for the information on the wedding coordinator - I had hired someone and was worried that I missed out on the services from the El Convento. I finally signed up for my room block at El Convento!

I was thinking of using a guitarist with a singer - but the violinist and piano player sound beautiful with the singer. If you have their contact details, I would love to get a quote for that - please pm if you don't mind. Since my reception will only be 20 people for dinner - I was just going to use my IPOD with a dinner music playlist.

I knew planning a wedding was going to be hard work...just had no idea how hard! Thanks again to both of you for your advice!

Ucon, I would just ask the hotel for their phone numbers. They have a list of preffered vendors & will hand out their info.

What room will you be using at the Hotel?

I used Salon Paoli, if you're using this one, I could send you pictures.

BTW, will you be serving cake? If you don't already have a cake vendor, my girl was fabulous!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
