ROR Decorations Set Up

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anybody knows what happens when you bring your own gazebo decorations to ROR, Jamaica, how do you make sure that everything is set up the way you want, and at what time to you give it to the wedding coordinator.

For example, I made the fishing line strung orchids, and will probably roll them up unto cardboard to keep from tangling, I might need to blow dry the fishing line to straighten it out, but I don't know how to pass them to the coordinator, and how to make sure they won't tangle up again.

If anyone could help, I would be grateful. Thanks in advance.smile36.gif

You usually meet with Chandlyn a day or 2 before your wedding. At that meeting you will discuss all of your plans. You can then give her those decorations & explain to her how you would like to have them on the gazebo. IF you do this, I would suggest bringing a friend along to the meeting, such as your MOH, to be your backup so that on the day of the wedding, she can check & make sure that your decorations are the way they are supposed to be.
If you don't want to give them to Chandlyn, you should designate someone in your group to do it. Either way, have a backup plan. The last thing you want is to be upset that they aren't on the gazebo the way that you wanted them!

To echo what Yolanda said, I would highly suggest asking one of your guest to supervise the decorations being hung the day of the wedding. My orchids were not hung correctly and they only hung about 1/4 of the strands and threw the rest away. In the end it didn't really matter, but I was pretty aggravated that all my hard work went to waste. I had given Chandlyn a picture to go by but that was not good enough.

in addition to all of the suggestions above, since I didn't have a MOH or even a wedding party for that matter, i took pictures of the final look and provided them to Chandlyn with handwritten instructions. ex. Fully extend and Hang from left to right (then i provided a picture showing the finished look, so she could know exactly the way I wanted it). She did a good job except for the way she tied my chair sashes.

Thanks!
The resort will provide the chair covers and sashes in lots of different colors for $10 per chair. They use them at the ceremony and at the reception for that price.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
