Rain on my Parade

Recommended Posts

So, Aaron and I haven't officially set the date... but we both like Sept. 12, 2008. I just went to weather.com and it said that September is when it rains the most in Los Cabos! sad.gif Has anyone gotten married there in September (or late August). How often does it actually rain? And last but not least, do you think I should change the date to chance better weather?

I think that is for sure the rainy season, I know some people are getting married in October, but living in So Cal that was usually one of the only months I got rain. Not sure if you saw Woo Woo wedding pics, but it rained on her wedding day and her pics still turned out beautiful.

some people say its good luck to have rain on your wedding day.

Courtney I have the same problem.. when I went to cancun last year exactly around my date it rained 3 out of 4 days when I was there.. I'm really concerned about it but I really love my date and I'm not willing to change it.. I'm going to take the risk and I think I'll rent some tents if it does rain 'cause I really don't want an indoor reception..

You really might want to move your date back - August, Septeber and beggining of October is Major HURRICANE season!! and it is VERY HOT and muggy. You could try JUne or July those are gorgeous months in Cabo.

I was there during one of the hurricanes last year and it was not too bad but I have heard that It Can get really bad.

I don't think I could move it to June or July... my family is the kind of family that has the windows open during winter because they still think its too hot!! We originally planned for November, so I guess we could go back to that... sad.gif I don't want to move it FARTHER away though!! I'm not too concerned about hurricane season since Cabo isn't on the Caribbean side. It would really suck if it rained... but.... arg. Back to the drawing board I guess!

I would like second Merryme's observations, as someone who lives and photographs here. Avoid September unless you fancy playing Russian Roulette with hurricanes and tropical storms. It is also nasty hot and humid 100+ during the day. The hurricane 'window' is August 15th through October 15th with a small likelyhood of hurricanes hitting outside of the window.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
