I say send them out to make her happy and also send out another one that matches your theme at the same time...so send 2 in one envelope! Yeah, extra postage, but you'll have some peace of mind and all of your friends will know the deal when you tell them. Tell your mom's friend that one of your BMs made invites as well and you didn't have the heart to exclude hers. Whomp! There it is! Win Win!cheer2.gif

At first, from far away, I was thinking they weren't that bad. But the close ups made me change my mind. The glue trails and pearls... They definitely resemble something I might have made in 2nd grade and brought home to my mom. (sorry if I sound harsh) With that said, I still don't know if it would be worth it to me to hurt someone's feelings (potentially pretty badly) over a shower invite. People are going to read them and then throw them out after the shower. If you thank her for them at the shower she would appreciate it and everyone there knows you well enough to know they aren't your taste.

This.

It's a tough pill to swallow, but use her cards and thank her graciously.

Those are really, uh, bad! smile41.gif

I know most girls don't agree, but I still think you shouldn't send them.

I know we are all adults but we are the worst when it comes to being critics. If that happened to me, I know I wouldn't send them out. Yeah, a shower is about the bridal partying throwing it for you but it has your name on it! You've done such a great job wit the STD's that the would shock people to receive something like that. I would hate hurting her feelings, so I would lie but I know I couldn't live with myself if those invites went out to my guests in my honor!!

I hope you make the descion that makes YOU happy and that YOU can live with. Good luck!smile124.gif

Yes, they aren't the cutest thing in the world, but seeing how they're shower invites, I would let it go. Make sure she doesn't get involved again hehe. It's sad because I think she was really trying to be creative and it didn't work out so well. It will be one of those things you can laugh about in 20 years. Make sure to save one for your scrap book! :)

I know she probably meant well and had a great idea - it just didn't land on the paper that good - at all!!

I don't really have an opinion whether to send them out or not. My aunt gave me my shower and sent out the worst invites EVER. There were grammer issues, spacing issues and just crappy issues in general. I didn't know what they looked like until I got to the shower and my mom brought me hers for me to keep. No one ever said anything to me about how ugly they were. It's not a reflection on you.

LoL. They look kind of like my STD's and I'm so horribly embarrassed by those [and I made them myself].

On the other hand, people will know that they didn't come from you, and some might even think that they are kind of fun. But remember that it is a shower invite, so you aren't even suppose to be aware of what they look like.

The evil side of me says to spill something on them, but my good side says just let it go and make fun of them on here.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
