As promised, here are the pics of the shower invites. I've inlcuded the link at the bottom.

I've also included pics of the STD i sent out and the actual wedding invitations that Sarah designed for me.

The only reason i saw them was because my mom was supposed to be mailing them out but she's been at the hospital with my Grandfather the last few days and i happened to stumble upon them.

Thank god i did.

Wow, those are pretty bad. It could have been a cute idea - minus the hot glue trails and pearly beads. I think the sand and real sea shell is a cute idea. Luckily people will know that you had nothing to do with them. It's so NOT the thing to stress about with your wedding. Just make sure there is plenty of alcohol to drink at the shower!

well, they aren't nearly as put together as your other mailings, but they really aren't that bad! [okay maybe i'm being a little too optimistic here, but i don't think they are worth any more stress on your part].

the shower invite i received in the mail last month was one of those generic "fill-in-the-blank" types... and these are much better than that.

i think that maybe all of us BDW girls are so used to seeing perfection in invitations and what is "great" to non-BDW guests seems "sub-par" to us.

sure they aren't fabulous, but don't stress about redo-ing them. ultimately they'll just end up in the garbage anyway.

i am on board with the majority here in making it VERY clear that you had no part in creating them. :) unless you have some serious time to kill, i say just use them.

I need to see pics!

I know this hard to do, but I learned that sometimes you have to let somethings go in this journey. Most people mean well, but some people just have bad taste!

For example, my aunt made these horrible HUGE flowers for my family and I to wear at my shower! I wanted to throw them away... they were so heavy and looked dumb on my dress! However, I wore it & looking back it turned out fine. It made her so happy and in the end I am glad I could do that. Only 2 weeks after my shower she had a heart attack... she is okay now but I am thankful I didn't hurt her feelings. I forgot all about the flowers until I read your post.. Honestly it fades, but hurt feelings may take longer! Good luck in making your choice!

Here's a pic of the flowers- try not to laugh...

OMG they are pretty bad!

i totally hear what you are saying about it looking like a school project - the glue and weird stickers and everything.

a lot of people may not agree with me but if it was me i would definitely NOT have those sent out. i think Hallmark or Target fill-in's would be better!

wowsers

The idea was really cute, but the execution was not quite up to par. I agree with what some of the other girls have said, use them and make a speech at your shower about how greatful you are to have her make them for you. Everyone will know when they see them that you didn't make them, especailly when they compare them to the STDs and invites.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
