Any input on the Casa Dorada?

Recommended Posts

I see this is an older thread and hasn't been posted in for awhile but I was wondering if anyone has gotten married at Casa Dorada yet and if you had any feedback?

I see a couple people here are going to be married there in March, do you have any feedback so far? How has everything been going? Is it easy to work with them? Where do they do the actual ceremony at on the property?

My fiance and I met in Cabo are are looking for locations to do our wedding at and it seems like most people like Dreams or the Rui but we love the Casa Dorada and if the cost is good and the location they do the ceremony at is nice we might like to do it there. Any info you guys could give us would be helpful. Thank you...

I am getting married there in March. The location is beautiful. We are getting married on the beach and then having our reception on the 12tribes terrace. I wanted to have it at the resturant but we didn't have enough people to rent out the entire thing. I haven't had any real problems but the resort is new and I don't think they have had more than a couple of weddings. If you can be patient everything is fine and they are really nice. I can always let you know how things go after March.

Hello smile29.gif,

Well, actually they opened mid last year so it's still a brand new place and from the looks of the public-works construction, it looks like the whole area will look pretty squeaky by the time you have your wedding. Congratulations!, but parking is still a challenge, nonetheless S&M.gif,

Hello,

I am getting married at Casa Dorada in March 2009. I think I was their first wedding contract. I really had to work with them to get the contract put together however they were more than accommodating and I am very happy I to be getting married there. The wedding planner is a little more than what I wanted to spend but she has also been wonderful. I also looked at a number of different sites in Cabo and Casa Dorada to me was the best.

We own a timeshare there and the place is beautiful. We were also able to work out some great deals for our guest accommodations.

Please feel free to ask me any other questions that you have.

Hello everyone,

Just for the record, I officiated a very beautiful wedding yesterday (January 24, 2009) at Casa Dorada. Sarai Flores the wedding coordinator did a fantastic job with the setting and the beach at Casa Dorada was elegantly decorated. One good thing to keep in mind... If you can start your wedding on time, it will be great.

The reason I say this is because we started our ceremony 40 minutes late! The light was a bit dimmed and I'm sure the photographs needed more flash than it should have.

Nevertheless it was a great ceremony and the hotel is finished 100%. Parking is no longer a problem since they just opened an very big parking lot accross the street from Casa Dorada.

Hopefully this information helps anyone planning to get married there wink.gif

Dear Stelladiver,

The issue wasn't with the hotel nor the wedding coordinator. The delayed of the wedding I officiated was because the bride ripped her dress and they had to saw it from the zipper I guess it was. It took 40 minutes!!!!!!

Sarai Flores the wedding coordinator is always on time and the staff at the hotel was very efficient too.

The reason why I pointed out about the time is because at the Casa Dorada Beach you won't be able to see the actual sunset as the sun sets behind the hotel. That's why your wedding must be on time or else your pictures will be a bit dark.

Hopefully this will ease your mind :) Best to you.

Oh no, my concern is not that the hotel did anything wrong or was somehow responsible for the delay. My concern is that it sounds like based on the location of the hotel as compared to the location of the sunset, the height of the building, etc., a ceremony on the beach there needs to be at a specific time in order for it to not be too dark. For those of you who have been to the Casa Dorada around sunset or, better yet, have been to a wedding there, how long before sunset should I start my wedding to make sure that it won't be too dark? Is 1.5 hours sufficient time? Or should I even start earlier? Most other hotels have said 1.5 hours is good because the ceremony will take 30 minutes, then you'll have an hour before sunset when the lighting is the prettiest to take photos. But it sounds like the Casa Dorada might be different because of the height of the building and where the sun sets in relation to the hotel. Please chime in on your thoughts! Thanks so much!

Dear Stelladiver,

No need to to worry, to avoid being under the shadow from the building, just make sure your wedding starts at least 2.5 hours before sunset and you'll be on the safe side. Perhaps 2 hrs is enough, but not too sure on that. I also depends on when your wedding will be held, for the sun does set differently. The very best to you, Stella,

Hi, I'm going there in Sept. to check it out and am hoping it's as nice as it looks in the pictures.  I'm nervous about it being on a crowded beach but I guess that is what you get for Medano Beach, right?  I would LOVE to see some wedding pictures taken there.  It looks like a gorgeous place and would have beautiful pictures, but I haven't seen any, since it is so new, I assume...  Anyway, I would love to know more.  Any and all info is helpful!!  how is the food??  how is the wedding coordinator there and how much does she charge?

thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
