Name change after legal day? Or after DW?

I am just wondering what everyone else is doing. I have had a lot of people asking me if I am changing my name and if I already have now that our legal ceremony is over. I keep telling everyone that I am going to wait until after the wedding in the Dominican since that is actually our 'wedding'.

How many of you doing the legal ceremony before the DW are changing your name right away?

How many of you are waiting until after the DW ceremony?

And I guess I can include those who aren't changing their name at all.

I personally am having a hard time parting with my lastnight since I have pretty cool initials. ET!!! There isn't anything special about EG. LMAO. I will be changing my name, since my kids both have Larry's last name, but still....ET!

I've been wondering about this too. We'll do our legal thing in the next few weeks and for professional reasons, I want to have my name changed soon (potentially getting published). But, my passport and plane ticket are in my maiden (current) name. Does anyone know if I can change my name on my drivers license and then change it on my passport after the Mexico wedding? Will that cause me a big headache to have mis-matched names on my drivers license and passport, a.k.a. is that even legally possible?

Its a matter for your really. One of my good mates got married and she had just re-newed her passport so she kept it in her maiden name and a few credit cards the same lol we went on holiday to Russia with that passport and she's been all over with it and not had a prob - she always made sure she had something else with her maiden name on just in case. She got married about 8 years ago and has only just changed it lmao She even said when I come to your wedding that'll be the first time i'll be in my married name lol

Samantha - I have heard that as long as your passport and your plane ticket match, then there isn't a problem. Of course what happens if they need to see more ID? Maybe keep a credit card with your maiden name like Marie said until you get everything switched over.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
