Solo guitarist/violinist or trio for RM

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I am really having a hard time locating any solo guitarists, violinists or trios who play in the RM...

I've searched the forum and there are LOTS of posts from Cabo brides, but haven't found anything for the RM in particular.

(I've also seen some postings asking for advice on this for the RM, but no one replied!)

I'm BEGGING anyone who has any names, contact info, ANYTHING to please help me out!

(I know there other brides on here could probably use the info too!)

Thanks!

We are having one thru our resort. I think they are Sonoma Thorpe and there is contact info on lomas-travel.com However, I am not sure if they only play at Karimsa resorts or how to contact them directly. If you are having a wedding at a resort they may be able to help you.

Thanks SO much!

I will look into it right now:-)

My resort DOES offer this option, but the WC has been really slow to get back to me on who it is, and song lists etc, PLUS I'd like to see if I can find anyone that's a bit less expensive than the resort's option (I think about $500 for 45 mins...but maybe that's normal for a solo musician...I don't know b/c I haven't been able to find anything to compare it to!:-))

I just checked out the Lomas site, and it looks like what my resort is charging is the same as they charge...so I guess that's the going rate!

Nice to double check though:-)

(especially since the DJ we found is waaaay cheaper than the resort's...)

Thanks again!

Hi-

I am getting married at the Royal in PDC and am booking a guitarist and also a Mariachi Band through Ajua Weddings. They are a wedding coordination service. I was referred to them by another Royal bride who said their cost for the mariachi was less than the resort. Once I saw they had a guitarist too, I decided to do that as well. Below is their contact info. They have a $100 coordination fee. The guitarist for 1, 45 min. set is $100 and a guitar/flute combination for a 45 min. set is $200. The mariachi is a six piece group and they are $374 for 45 min. Hope this helps!

"Hope this helps"??

That's the understatement of the year!

This is FANTASTIC information!!!

Even after paying the outside vendor fee at my resort, AND the company's co-ordination fee -- IT'S STILL CHEAPER THAN THE RESORT!! :-)

I've just sent them an e-mail...

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH...seriously:-)

This is so great! Thanks for the info...i've been looking everywhere for this. I finally resorted to asking a family member to play the guitar, but the resort wants to charge me $200 to let him hook his guitar up to their system and it's going to cost me $100 to fly his guitar to Mexico and back - besides the fact that I don't think he really wants to do it. This is a lifesaver, thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
