Gail - Ugh, I swear you can't get a straight answer from that woman to save your life some days lol. Don't get me wrong, she's lovely and everything but I think she has trouble with the language barrier.

I did see your question on my review thread and replied to it as well. Ivory what? Sorry I'm slow this morning lol the caffeine hasn't hit me yet wink.gif

Oh, I just wanted to let you ladies know that I added some misc vacation/Iberostar pics on my most recent post of my review. Hopefully this will help you all!

Hmmm?!?!? Maybe she is being difficult? Like I said it took us months and $500 worth of phonecalls to mexico before she let us do this? But I swear I read it somewhere that they now do private receptions at a la carte restaurants for like $800 and $50 per person (i'll have to do some reaserch to see if I can find that again)... Ask her why you can't if you are williing to pay extra for it? You aren't saying you want it for free so what's the big deal - this is what I never understood with them! (This was the deciding factor for her manager Isla when I stated this point to her and Gabriela so we settled I would pay $1200 for the Brazilian)... Keep on her and if you must call down there and ask for a manager (that's what I did - just get a phone card first I learned the hard way and I could of flown down there for what I paid on my phone bill LOL)...

what do they charge to decorate that arch you were talking about?

I knew I wasn't hallucinating about the private a la carte receptions!!! Read this article:

Iberostar Weddings FAQ

it states:
Where will our wedding dinner be? Can we have a private reception?

You can choose from one of resort's A La Carte Restaurants (there will be other guests at the restaurants). If you want to have a private reception, you can rent a restaurant (1000 USD) plus a set menu (50 USD per person).

Another bargaining chip I used on them was I didn't send them any information or reserve my date (with credit card copy) until they garenteed this for me - just trying to help!

As per to your question…we have rent the Brazilian restaurant as a private event just once… (3 years ago) we are having now another one in May because we have a bride that want to have it. Please note that in all this cases the General Manger of the Hotel made a BIG exception. Beside the brides had to pay $ 1000 USD extra to rent it. Unfortunately the General Manager that we have in the hotel at the moment won’t allow to happening this again. I’m sorry! The only restaurant that we are allowed to offer as a private event is the Tropical Restaurant.

this is the response I got after 3 e mails to gabriella, this reply is from Reyna, which has never e mailed me until now-

lol! Sorry Gail, I know this is soooo frustrating for you but I had to laugh. I corresponded with Gabriela regarding my wedding via email exclusively. For some reason, Reyna sent me an email once which not only did not answer my question at all but she sent me information I already had and referred me to it even though the answer I was looking for was not in that document. I gave her a very snarky reply back and the next thing I knew Gabriela was back to emailing me. I'm not sure why this Reyna hops in on Gabriela's emails when she has no idea what's going on. I was so irritated when this happened to me. I feel for ya girl!! smile03.gif

i sent a "concerning" e mail to gabriella regarding inconsis answers and "extras"- not giving me exact answer when I sent pic and asked what it would cost to have gazebo to look like that. I think I was PMS ing that day. So due to that is prob why I now have reyna e mailing me

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
