I have photos! Check them out at: CancunPhotos by Sascha Gluck. Sascha is so creative and fun to work with. Thanks for the recommendations girls! BTW- we added the extra flowers to the arch and my step mom and aunt added the extra white toile (sp?) to fill it in. The arch at the Lindo is awesome and has cut outs of starfish, etc. but you can't use it at the del Mar.

Awesome photos AK! The wedding ceremony looked picture perfect w/ the the bright blue sky and the sandy beach. Adding the extra fabric is a great tip.

I just got my photo's in!!! YEAH!!! Check them out... They were done by Claudia Rodriguez's photographer Citlalli. Swine flu was the best thing that ever happened to us because even though the Del Mar was closed and we spent 2 years planning everything with them and all our outside vendors (florist, makeup, hair, photographer) IT WORKED OUT PERFECT!!! They let us still use the del mar gazebo and because we were having a private reception at the del mar's brazilian steakhouse (that they were shutting down for us since the del mar was closed that was a no go soooo) we got to have it at LA BRISA at the Iberostar Grand - MUY PERFECTO! It was what when we started negoitaiting 2 yrs ago we originally wanted and they said no way no how because we had kids in our group WELL THANK GOODNESS FOR SWINE FLU because all the b.s. we went through was a blessing in disguise! The food at the GRAND IS PHENOMINAL (that's where we stayed but had the wedding planned for the Del Mar and our guests ended up getting all free upgrades to the MAYA not just the lindo) but like I said we definetly went through some b.s. but it all paid off in the end! And now we just found out that we have a new adventure coming up - I am pregnant (that's why I have been to busy to post or read what's been going on sorry I feel so out of the loop) lol!!!!

I want to wish all the upcoming iberostar brides the best of luck! XOXOXO

Here is the link to the pics since I know we all love pics:

Oh my god Danielle! Your wedding was absolutely phenomenal!! Those pictures are amazing and you looked so gorgeous! After all the planning hell you went through, you deserved that beautiful wedding...I'm so glad everything worked out for you in the end. La Brisa looks amazing and I love that you can see that it is located right by the ocean in your reception pics. Congrats to you and DH on your weddingmoon baby!!! That is so exciting! hug2.gif

Well, I have been out of the loop for a while. Now that it is summer, I am in full planning mode for my Nov. wedding. I am reading on here the Del Mar was closed! That is news to me! My travel agent did not tell me that. Why was it closed? How long?

Congrats Amanda and Danielle! Your pictures are amazing! I am glad you both enjoyed your day! Danielle - Congrats on the baby! That is so exciting!

We got back from Mexico on Friday. When we arrived on the 21st of June the Del Mar was open, however, they honored the upgrade for us and our 53 guest to the Lindo. They did move the ceremony / reception from the Del Mar to the Beach Hotel. We had the ceremony on the beach and the private reception at the Beach Hotel's Steakhouse - El Puerto. Everything was PERFECT! We couldn't have been happier with how it all worked out. It was even better than I imagined.

I worked with Reyna over email before arriving (wasn't really thrilled with her response time). When we arrived, we met with Karla. Many of the details that I worked out with Reyna were not accurate. Karla was wonderful and corrected all of the information / details quickly and efficiently. I was so happy that she took over our wedding. She is so hard working and detail oriented. I can't compliment her enough!!!

We went with Claudia Rodriguez photography. Claudia was our photographer. Although I haven't seen the pictures yet - I am sure they will be great. I have been checking out her portfolios online for about a year now! Claudia was very sweet and great to work with. She made everyone feel very comfortable and not too posed. I am going crazy with anticipation for the pictures to post online and arrive.

We left the Lindo on Saturday, the 27th and headed to Excellence Playa Mujeres. The resort was unbelievable! If you ever decide to go back to Mexico for a romantic getaway it is a fabulous resort. Adults / couples only and completely centered around romance.

Please let me know if any of the upcoming brides have any questions. I'd be more than happy to help in anyway I can.

As soon as I get the pictures I will post the link!

Hi Jen,

I'm so glad to hear that you had an amazing time. We are leaving this weekend for our Del Mar wedding. Do you have any suggestions? I see you had a large group as well, we have about 90 guests coming. Did you have a DJ? and were you supposed to have the reception at the Tropical Resturaunt? Thanks sooooo much, and congrats again!!!! Stacy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
