Iberostar Brides....POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I am in the early stages of planning, I want my wedding in Punta Can and i love the looks of Iberostar. I am just a little confused, there seems to be 4 different Iberostar resorts in Punta Cana, so my question is what is the difference between the resorts and how did you choose which one you wanted?

Thanks a bunch!

Sarah ... welcome!!!

It's very hard to decifer between the Iberostar Resorts on here ... and it takes a long while to go through them all, though it is well worth all the information everyone has shared!! I would say the majority of the stuff on here is for the Mexico Iberostars, mostly the Del Mar/Beach resorts. I'd check in on the Dominican Republic branch of the forum and see if there's any Iberostar chat floating around in there. Overall, I think you'll be pleased with the reviews about the Iberostar chains and the great service everyone typically gets from them! Good luck and welcome to the planning pandemonium!!! :)

Hey girls!!

It has been forever since I've posted because the wedding stuff has kept me so busy!! We spent 15 days in Mexico, then came home for our AHR which was on Saturday. Now everything is over and no more planning :)

Anyway, I want to let you all know that our wedding at the Maya was PERFECTO! I would not have changed a thing. Lily was absolutely amazing.

I will post a review soon. Congratulations to all the June brides, and July brides, believe me, everything will be fabulous!!!

I need to go through all the messages on here (119 pages takes a while to thumb through!) but I'm wondering abotu our paperwork! FI and I are legally getting married at the resort. We just got a quote today to have our birth certificates and my divorce decree translated from a company and it was $310!!! A bit more then we were figuring on! Do we HAVE to have these translated? Also, it's my understanding that we have to have an Apostille from the states of our documents too. Just want to make sure this is all necessary before we put out this unexpected chunk of money!!! Thanks bunches!!

HAPPY LEGAL DAY BESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey FutureBotter - We got married at the Maya and I was really worried about this exact thing. We did not have to get our docs translated. My DH is divorced so we had birth certificates and a divorce decree, none of which we got translated and everything was fine! We did get Apostilles for all of them just in case, but I'm not sure that it was necessary. Hope this helps!

Hi! I just wanted to share that my last wedding details email from June 7th has been answered. YAY! What i esp wanted to pass along from the email is this: "We did received all the information that you send to us, and everything is going to be like you are requesting to be …One day after you are arriving or the day you arrive, we will send you a letter to set up an appointment to meet with you and your fiance (“Bride to Be”) and we can just give the last touch ups to your wedding." This little bit about what happens when you get there completely put me at ease so hopefully it does the same for anyone else still waiting to hear from them...the other thing was that the email was not signed off by reyna but instead "Karla Tejeda, Wedding Coordinator,Paraiso del Mar & Beach" maybe they finally thought to hire Reyna some help?? In either case, I hope this helps...

I know this is kindof a random question, but I am trying to figure out how much cash vs travelors checks to take and how much can be covered on credit card..... are all the wedding expenses (flowers, reception, hair appointment, etc) through the hotel payable by credit card in american dollars?

When I called Mexico about a month ago I actually talked with Karla. She seemed very nice and helpful. I think it's great that they will have 2 wedding coordinators helping out on our wedding days!! Just a little more reassuring.

I had this same exact question, does anyone know if I cna just pay everything with a Credit card? The entire wedding, cocktail party, etc? I think the DJ needs to be in cash. What about the hair services?

Leaving in 2 days! Pretty much all packed! Need to pick up my dress on Wed and we are out on Thursday! Woo hoo!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
