Also, I'm so happy, as the photographer is booked. I'm using Sascha Gluck sp? and I'm so excited. I got this information here from Kathy and I'm thrilled. Someone cancelled so he had my day open! Yeah!
Woo hoo! Congrats! You will love him, he's a super nice and super talented guy!

You MUST post your pics when he gets them to you, I would love to see them! :)

For those whose weddings are near, you gals are so upbeat!! I'm cracking up listening to your responses! I say we set a day and specific time and all do a large shot of Don Julio in honor of the wonderful swine flu media frenzy!! Just this weekend while we were up "getting" my dress, my future FIL was calling for a hurricane while we were down there too!! Too funny how all our minds are on the same track here! Gals, our days will be what we make of them and it sounds like they're all going to be fabulously fun and rememberable!!!

So, my "getting" my dress this weekend wasn't so fun ... actually, a little Bridezilla came out this weekend! I got a call from the bridal store Saturday evening at 4:30 ... half hour before they closed, to confimr my appt to try on my dress Sunday at 12. The gal said, well, it looks like your dress ahsn't arrived yet, so you can try on the sample again! The fumes started flying! They gauranteed me that it would arrive on Friday and I could come in Sat or Sunday to pick it up! Being 5 hours away, my FI and I decided to make a weekend out of it to visit our in-laws, who live an hour away from the store. My mom even took off work to come with us! Needless to say, there have been many phone calls and one face to face visit with the store! As of now, they're talking with a bridal store 15 minutes from our house to arrange for it to be shipped here and the alterations taken care of. The salon will be taking care of every additional expense for this dress. So, unfortunately, I have no pics to share with you ... sad.gif Hopefully in the next few weeks I should though!

I'm about to do our final 4 pages of wedding details! Have some decisions to make! Thanks for all the help to make this process so much easier! If I have any questions ... they'll be coming shortly!

DEEKAN!!!! So glad to see you on here! Hey ... we'd love to have you and Colin join us if you two need a vaca!!! Then you can party with us and get some up front info!! Plus, prices are dropping like mad!!! Murph and Jess got an awesome price, and ours keeps dropping because of getting the insurance for guaranteed lowest price! Awesome to see you leaning towards the Iberostar ... you said yourself they were beautiful!!!

Hi girls,

I am finally over the Swine Flu! Nothing like the media blowing it out of proportion! I still feel for those of you that are getting married in May. I am not until the end of June and although things seem to be slowing down I still have a few guest that can't help but email me to tell me how stressed they are about this so I am sure May brides are really feeling it!!! We still have six weeks so it should be more than fine.

Quick question...I am renting out the Tropical Restaurant for our reception. Does anyone know how many people each table fits? I am going to work on the seating chart and I don't know if I should do tables of six, eight or ten.

Thanks!

Hi Jennifer,

I think tables of 6 people would be the most comfortable. I think if your limited though then you can probably get 8 pp to a table. Do you have the pic of the Tropical with the tables all set-up? The pic is showing 7 chairs around the table and they look just about right. You probably don't want your guests too crowded.

If Gabriela or Reyna never sent you the pic, PM me your e-mail addrees and I'll send you the PDF image.

Gen

HI! I am pretty new here and I'm finally finding all the Iberostar posts! My first choice is the Iberostar Maya- i have to fax them my information to confirm the date. I'm looking into July, 2010! I can't wait to hear how your wedding goes. I'm a little confused still about all the planning, the etiquette with DW invitations, etc.....
This site seems to have a wealth of info!

Thanks for sharing! I sent this to my TA and asked if we could be upgraded to the Maya or Grand. We are already upgraded to the Grand on our HM, but all of our guests are at the Lindo. It just sucks we have to pay full price. I am anticipating my TA saying tough Sh*t! haha Such as life. :) I am just happy we get to go since I know so many have had to suffer!

I am happy for all you girls that get the upgrade...that is great! How do you girls feel about this? Happy, pissed? I wonder how it will work for the weddings. Especially since some of you wanted to rent out the Tropical.

Wow! I'm totally jealous! I would have loved an upgrade! I've heard that the beds on the Maya/Lindo side are far more comfortable than the Beach/Del Mar side beds (not that it would take much, it's like sleeping on a boulder haha). So does that mean any May brides who wanted to use the garden gazebo as their ceremony site can no longer do so? That's kind of a bummer!! sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
