Iberostar Brides....POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Yes, sorry, I'm so overwhelmed. My first question is: I haven't even thought about dinner/dancing/cocktail hour, etc. I see a lot of folks are having their dinner at the steakhouse. Is that the reception or do you recommend having a "party" afterwards. I'm trying not to go overboard with money, that's one of the reasons that we chose a destination wedding. This is my second, but his first.

Thanks!

MY second and his first also! I could answer everything, but I don't know if things same at tucan. Do you have Gabriella's e mail. Since your short onn time maybe call her.

For us at del mar, we have option after ceremony to have a cocktail hr (diff locals avail- depending on where and if having reception after). Many possibilites. For me, ceremony at gazebo then coctail ouside tropical (on the terrace) cause having private recepion at tropical with DJ. There you can rent tropical for 800.00 if you want private dining and reception. You can also choose one of a la cartes for dinner.... Again, I don't know options for tucan- even at our resort options diff if you are del mar vs lindo....

Your best bet is to ask gabriella. As far as vendors we can help with that. I hired DJ Mannia after researching, he had great reviews. Photo's- many great people to choose from- I got sol photography- their assoc vincent is taking mine.

As far as should you have party after, totally a perference. We wanted one - so doing private. Some have dinner and then drinks at lobby bar. No one choice is better than other, just what you want.

Hope that helps- let me know if I can answer anything else. Sorry don't know anything about tucan

I am looking into getting married at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya. I am looking forward to hearing about all of your upcoming weddings. I'm looking at the dates in the beginning of July in 2010. I've stayed at the Paraiso beach, and it was great.

Hi Ladies! Because our wedding planner (that we've since dumped) took so long to confirm a wedding date for us, we never got the chance to send out save the dates. Now, everyone is booked for the wedding that is going to go, but we would like to send out "wedding invitations" or more appropriate announcements of the upcoming wedding. Does anyone have good verbiage for this? I've done some searching but I'm not a good writer and need some help.

Thanks!!

Yes, the Los Vitrales is $50 flat fee. However, I think maybe it only holds 40 people cry.gif I'm not sure what you do for more than 40 people. I know you can do the Disco, but I've heard it is not good for a reception because it is a Star Trek theme or something. I'm not sure if the convention center would be available for a Lindo/Maya wedding. I'm sorry I'm not much help, our group is only 24. That's great that you have so many people coming!!
Thank you so much for the info! I have a feeling we are going to go with the Del Mar/Beach resorts because we love the garden gazebo and would like to have a private reception. So far we think we'll have more than 40 people, but hopefully no flu hits again right before our wedding or the number might drop!

I just saw that you are from STL! That is where I'm from too! That's one of the reasons we decided to do a destination wedding because we have people coming from all over Illinois and Missouri so no matter where we had the wedding it would be a destination for someone. So why not make it a vacation destination!

Say, didn't LindoBride promise a review? bunny_4.gif Just kidding...I know she is super busy with all her new changes. Just wanted to let you know how excited I am to read it when you are ready to post. :)

That goes for any of our newlywedded Brides. :) I am so ready for some good news on this site. I guess Mexico is downgrading the panic level. So that is good news too.

anyhoo...hope all is well! blush2.gif

Thanks for the info on the verbiage. I found something last night, and my sister, who is a writer, is going to "enhance" it.

Also, I'm so happy, as the photographer is booked. I'm using Sascha Gluck sp? and I'm so excited. I got this information here from Kathy and I'm thrilled. Someone cancelled so he had my day open! Yeah!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
