Iberostar Brides....POST HERE!

jpitts78-Glad I will be able to offer my experience at the Grand. Have you been working with Martha? She was fantastic to work with.

BBtoB - you will hopefully be as blown away on your honeymoon at the Grand as we were with our experience there. We walked around the entire first day with our mouths on the floor, it's amazing to say the least.

I have lots of information, opinions, and pictures to share, I'm just still trying to learn how to navigate myself around the forum and figure out the best way to post a review and pictures. It may take me some time but I'm working on it!

ParaisoBeachBride - I think I remember seeing somewhere that you used a template for your review, is there some where I can get the template or did you just use it as a guide?

Iberostar09 - Hi! Well, I sort of used SunBride's review as a guide for my own, the formatting is essentially the same. I put my review together in Word first so that I wouldn't timeout of the site whilst posting it haha. Good luck, can't wait to read your review!! :)

For those of you who had their cocktail our at the Tropical Restaurant, what did you do for music? Reyna just told me there are no outlets to plug in the iPod dock., and that I could use the DJ if I wanted. I'm using DJ Bob for the reception, so I figured I'd just play tropical music during the cocktail hour. Just curious, what did you guys do? I might get the mariachi instead, but of course that's more money! :)

We have 62 people coming and I feel pretty good about most things. We rented the Tropical Restaurant for 7pm and are doing an hour of cocktails and apps starting at 6pm. We hired DJ bob for the night and I also am having an outside photographer coming in- I'm using Claudia Rodriguez Photographer. If anyone has questions please let me know. As soon as we return I will post a review. The count down is on!
What are you planning for guests between time ceremony over and cocktail hr? Mine is scheduled for 420, was thinking of moving to 5. WC said ceremony takes 15-20 min max.

Any past brides have thoughts on this? Do they usually start on time?

For tropical, is it open bar entire night? I have asked several times and no answer. Wondering if we have to give list for alcohol- what wil they have?

I've noticed many brides plan to marry at the Gazebo. Is there anyone out there who plans to marry on the beach? I'm just worried about guests at the resort being so close to us during the ceremony. I dont mind people watching, but i saw a few photos of someone's beach wedding and you could see people in the shot & in the background and to me it just looked really cheesy. i was wondering if anyone else had these reservations about a beach ceremony?

Thanks so much!

Hi!

I am getting married on the beach. I just plan on telling the photographer to avoid pictures of people. Maybe they canbe airbrushed out if you have a special shot. I don't think that they are all that close anyway, and I plan on having plenty of before and after beach shots too.

Mine starts at 4:30 and I was wondering the same thing! Gabriela was pretty vague with me about what the guests will do in between the ceremony and cocktail hour. She said she would take care of it. Not sure what that means! I assumed she would direct them to one of the nearby bars.

She also told me that alcohol is included at the Tropical Restaurant, but I'm also curious about how it is set up. Do we just order whatever drinks we want and the waiters bring them, or is there an actual bar set up where we would get our own drinks. I'd love to know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
