We have 62 people coming and I feel pretty good about most things. We rented the Tropical Restaurant for 7pm and are doing an hour of cocktails and apps starting at 6pm. We hired DJ bob for the night and I also am having an outside photographer coming in- I'm using Claudia Rodriguez Photographer. If anyone has questions please let me know. As soon as we return I will post a review. The count down is on!
Congratualtions on your day that is coming so quick! Your plans sound great! So are you doing a hair trial before the big day?

Here's a few of my personal reasons for not having a wedding on the beach:

- too windy (hard for people to hear you talk and depending on your hair do, it might ruin your hair)

- too many onlookers

- not enough privacy

- the beach is extremely busy (well at least in February it was)

But lots of people get married on the beach at this resort and many others...I think it is a personal choice and a matter of what you prefer for yourself. Good luck! :)

I was just too scared to post on the forum where no one knew about our situation. Our experience with the Grand, the salon, the other Iberostars were all fanstastic and I can't wait to share our opinions, feedback, and PICTURES!!

"Hello Everyone,

I had a somewhat unique experience. My boyfriend and I decided to elope last summer. I have been planning my destination wedding/honeymoon "undercover" for the last 9 months. With not a soul aware of what we were doing, I found this forum ESSENTIAL to my planning process.

My husband and I were married at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso in Mexico on 03/06/09. This Friday will be our 1 month anniversary. :) I am so excited to finally be able to be part of the forum that helped me plan our wedding day. A special shoutout to my fellow Iberostar Brides, I can't wait to post my reviews and pictures to hopefully be able to help another bride in their upcoming Mexico or Iberostar wedding!

Again thank you and I'm so excited!

Another Grand lady. How was your experience there for a wedding? Can't wait to see pictures too. I'm really interesting in knowing everything...lol. I have yet found anyone else having a wedding at the Grand, so this is great.

BBtoB - If it would put your mind at easy, definitely make your appointment earlier. I had originally made mine for 12:30 p.m. but decided to move it up when I got to the resort just in case. My hair is also stick straight, so I know where you're coming from on that! wink.gif

Hi Kristin, Congratualtions and welcome to our little group! I can't wait to hear stories about your big day and see pics. My FI and I are staying at the Grand after we get married at the Lindo. We decided to upgrade to treat ourselves. :) Thanks and welcome!

I am normally a very laid back kind of person (so a wc was the way to go with me), but even tho i have booked a wedding date, i need to know more..... like when will Myra (Iberostar Tucan wc) get in contact with me about flowers? cocktail parties? etc.. i feel like im missing out on the girly talks.

Has anyone already got this info? Many thanks in advance.
Hi Andrea,

I am also getting married at the Tucan... November 14, 2009!

Mayra has been great so far with answering my emails! She said about 2-3 months out she will contact us about flowers etc...

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the Tucan! Have you been there? We went in December to visit and decide on the resort.

Just send me a private message if you have any questions!

My plan for now is not to do a trial- I was just going pray it turned out okay on the day of the wedding! I have heard pretty good things about the salon. I guess I'm rolling the dice a bit but I did not want to send the extra
money:-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
