dbellie

Your right! Their responses are not consistant. Gabriella first told me you had to have at least 40 then 35 now like posted you can pay diff. She told me you couldn't rent out restr when I was looking into that. I'm glad that changed. Since I didn't think it was a option, i really didn't look into it. Why did you pick restr instead of tropical? I picked tropical because I wanted private reception and DJ.

Who are you having to do hair and make up?

I'm not sure about the cocktail hour, but I know that Michelle told us previously that you can tweak the ceremony. We discussed it early on in this thread if you want to look for it.

I was told that they'd put me in touch with the officiant as well, but have yet to hear.

I'm leaving Mexico on the 13th (wedding on the 9th). I can't believe how fast time as flown!!
Oh my gosh! You are leaving March 13th? So are you staying down ther for all that time? Wow! So did you say what your final plans are? How exciting! I am 4 months out and starting to get really excited! I can't imigine how it must feel to be that close! wow!

For the legal civil ceremony's performed by a judge it will be in english not spanish anymore (so no-one will be translating). And you can write your own vows or repeat after the judges. You can have a unity candle and music playing and you can have people do readings (as long as you keep them short). The ceremony is usually 20 minutes.

Just thought it was some useful stuff to know since the wedding package document says you can't do any of this for the civil legal ceremony! They changed there rules!!!
Thanks for the warm welcome back and compliments girls, you're all too sweet! cheesy.gif

I just wanted to add that dbellie is correct about ceremonies no longer being in Spanish. The entirety of my ceremony was performed by the judge who did it all in English....and she was really funny to boot, I loved her!

Hey Kristin,

I'm actually contemplating the same thing. Right now I have 50 guests confirmed which is slightly over the amount for the Vitrales room (which I was told 40 is the max). So, I'm considering the convention center... & maybe even the lounge set-up (depending on cost, of course).

For some reason, I think the convention center is located near the shopping center. I didn't realize they were two separate options for the reception. I think the shopping center is only available for the cocktail party. I definitely need clarification.

If I remember correctly, Michelle had her reception in the Los Vitrales room.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
