Also, if you have diff people coming from diff areas a good TA can look at diff options on pricing and take care of everything.

Again, I was initally working with three and had someone rec current one she is great. They are a big company with offices all over and contracts with iberostar...she got me great pricing....and has managed everything. As time went on people decided to change their days etc-
Gail- What travel agent are you using?

I'm not sure if there is a different one for the Del Mar, but there was an ice cream shop above the swim up bar in one of the pools at the Lindo. There is also a small ice cream shop in the shopping center, but I don't see how there could be a cocktail hour there. I don't even think it had tables. The one above the pool was larger and had tables and chairs so that may be what they are referring to. BTW, the coconut ice cream there was phenomenal!

Danielle- This is what Gabriela wrote back to me when I was inquiring:

"As per the cocktail party as a private event, we rent only the Aqua Bar "La Perla" (groups smaller than 30 pax) or the Icea cream bar "El Puente" (groups larger 30 pax), the time available its 6:30-11:00pm (the Aqua Bar) & 7:00-11:00pm (the Ice cream bar)"

She also sent me pictures of both locations that I can email you or I'm happy to upload them for everyone but I'm not sure how to upload files :-)

I hope this helps!

Her name is Evelyn 412 856 4660. swansone@libertytravel.com

I have never met her. I deal with her by phone and e mail. She has been great. She beat everyone elses prices and really is organized. She is taking care of all guests travel/payment so I don't have to worry about it. My FI's dad runs a big company with assoc doing a lot of travel and they organize their companys traveling needs. He called her for me. Tell her Gail referred you and if she could work up a deal for wedding package like mine. If your going to contact her let me know and I will e mail her for you

I am using Sunshine Travel, it's in Elgin, IL. We are just having a small wedding, about 20-25 people coming. We are using apple vacation packages for our guests.

Hi Iberostar girls...I am getting married at the Beach on July 3, 2009. I have been so busy at work that I have not been thinking to much about the wedding plans...now I am getting a little nervous. We have about 6 people booked and are planning on about 20 attending. I am still planning on having our reception at the Aqua Bar.

jwalkowiak-would you mind sending my pictures of the aqua bar? sunandrun@yahoo.com

Now that I am more focused on my planning I look forward to chatting to all you Iberostar brides about the planning

Hi Iberostar gals!

I am marrying on April 14 at the Paraiso Lindo. I am also using an iPOD for the reception. Maybe I'll have someone introduce us, but other than that, there will only be about 45 ppl, so I'm not too concerned about that.

I think we are simply going to have our coctail hour at Las Olas bar (pool bar at the Lindo) but I wouldn't mind seeing pics if you girls have some of others. We are eating at the Steakhouse in the Maya, so maybe something close to that would be best.

I hate the fact that there are so many things we are left in the dark about, but I have just started to 'let go' and not worry about them. I guess that's my only way to stay sain!

We had our wedding dinner at the steakhouse in the Maya as well (it was very good, and they sat us in the back section so it was pretty private). We had our cocktail hour in the lobby bar of the Maya since it was close to the restaurant. THere are a lot of chairs around the bar, and also a lounge section right there where everyone was able to mingle. It worked out great, and then you don't have to pay the per person fee for drinks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
