Congratulations on your wedding! I am getting married at the Del Mar as well. I have been a little nervous since I have not been to the resort but your review made me feel much better! It sounds like you had a great time and all went well. Who did you use for your photographer? I would love to see pictures when you have them loaded.

Congrats again!

Hi Gail! Congrats on your upcoming wedding and finally choosing a resort -- I know exactly how you feel!! :)

Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar and Paraiso Beach are on the same side, so I can probably help you with some of your questions. The name of wedding coordinator I have been corresponding with is Gabriela Palacios, she is an absolute pleasure to work with and usually answers my emails within a few hours to about two days, so very fast responses.

Good luck and happy planning!!

Thank you. I have many questions. WE prob will have less than thirty. Options other than a la cartes for dinner? Need certain number for tropical? Do they put you in private area in a la cartes?

How does everyone handle first dance? any of that if nothing private and do ceremony and dine in a la cartes?

I am so new to this, you guys will want to kill me. I KNOW NOTHING. I keep reading about save the date cards and sending passport cards. Please fill me in -any pics/examples.

Our DJ didn't say anything! We had already asked my BM Sarah to announce us, and she ended up announcing the dances too on the fly. This part of the night was a little choppy as we weren't really given much direction of what to do or who was doing what.

Thanks!
I only had my dress pressed before we left and it held up fine so I didn't need to get it pressed in Mexico. Sorry!

I saw and loved the passport idea. Do you know of any e card version. The apple charter for june 9th is getting booked quickly so my TA feels I need to book ASAP . WE are putting this together so quick so I thought I could get faster response if I could find a way to do by e mail.

What do you guys think?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
