We had cocktails, dinner/reception at the Oceana Terrace and there were no guests in or around the pool...I think once people see the staff starting to set up, they get the picture...also, people usually clear the pool area fairly early to get ready for dinner...what pool area are you thinking of having your reception?

Our ceremony on was on the beach at 6pm and after the cocktail hour everyone went over to Oceana by the small pool. There was no one at the pool the entire time we were over there. I would not worry about it, a few people might walk through but you will never know becuase you have enough going on and enjoying everything!!

Dreams Cabo is VERY quiet in the evenings.. everyone is back at their room getting ready or already at the restaurants eating at that time. There will probably be people walking around the resort enjoying themselves but nothing to worry about..

yes it does suck to end the party so early because time flies by BUT you can continue the party at the lobby bar or out by the fire pit near the lobby bar, go into town to continue the party or just may find yourself exhausted and looking for some alone time with your new hubby! :)

When I went on a site visit last year I saw a few weddings in both areas, Oceana Terrace (place by the smaller pool) and la Cascada (area near the main pool). Once the staff set up and placed a sign designating that it was a private party, people kinda headed out. Oceana is way more private though if that's what you want.

I'm having my reception at La Cascada b/c i have a larger group. I don't think there'll be a privacy issue. Plus, I think everyone will be too busy dancing and drinking to even notice!

Also, I just noticed that you are planning to get married in Nov.. By that time, it won't be so hot inthe late afternoon/evening time...i think you can start your ceremony much sooner. Say 4 or 5ish. I'm getting married this Oct. and am asking my guests to be at the Gazebo by 4:45pm b/c the ceremony will start at 5pm. Hope this helps!

We just had our dinner by the large pool (cascada) @ 7:00 and it was great! We had a few people walk by, but we felt like we were alone! We loved the breeze off the ocean and it worked perfect for us. I was nervous like you. We saw another wedding there while we were there and it was fine as well, people are very respectful and they'll be off eating! Good Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
