Question for the photographers on the forum..

So Sarah just came back from Cabo and met with a photographer. He told her not to tan for two months before her wedding because lighter skin shows up better in pics.. Or something like that.

 

Can someone please help me out on this? I'm not understands. I'm getting married in three months and I was going to start tanning this month.

I'm not sure why lighter skin would be better for photos. I know tan lines are good but not sure why you'd want to stop tanning all together

tammy, maybe ask rebecca or tammy and see what they have to say because they both used juan and it looked like they both had sun! I was planning on starting about a month before, or otherwise I will burn the week before down there!

I would think a nice tan bride would photo better than a sunburnt one!!!

here are my thoughts on the subject. "pale" untanned skin photographs better than fake baked "orange" skin. no doubt about that. i had one DW wedding where it was pretty obvious there had been a fair amount of fake baking and fake tanning lotion used prior to the wedding and the bride and bridesmaids seriously had an orange cast to them. ive never had a bride who looked bad because she was pale but ive had brides whos fake skin color/weird lines (you know like you get down your arms from a tanning bed or when the tanning lotion isnt applied quite right!) looked really noticeable.

 

i understand part of the destination wedding look is that sunkissed glow but sometimes it can go wrong. i know you dont want to look like casper on your wedding day but you dont want to look like louis the lobster either.

I think the same, and more if you are in a sunny place with a beach!!!

Ok so some sun will be ok as long it doesn't look fake and red?

I guess it would only look RED if you start tanning two days before the wedding and stay on the sun from 9 am to 5 pm!!
