BUT now that i posted my planning thread and decided to use my dark red/burgundy shoes and purse - i think i am making a mistake - it is the ONLY place i would have the fuschia/hot pink -weird, right?

i think i should go dark BUT will dark red /burgundy flowers look weird if it's not roses? do orchids even come that dark?

I know I've seen the really dark red orchids...but I have no idea if they'd be available, fresh, for your wedding...I'm googling...but haven't found much as far as origin yet.

I have also seen some really gorgeous dark red, almost black, callas...what about those?

Here is a website that I found...for Hawaiian orchids...

Orchids and Orchid Plants, Tropical Flowers from Hawaii's Premiere Orchid Growers, Orchid Care and Growing Orchid Tips, Orchids Wholesale and Tropical Flowers Wholesale

There are quite a few red/cherry color variations under the Cattleya section...

These are really unique looking also:

Hawaii Orchids - Sharry Baby

It might get you started?

I'm pretty sure you can get orchids that dark. I know you can get the black magic roses that are super dark.

I would call the florist ASAP. Sometimes it takes 2 weeks or more to special order flowers, and you are getting close missy!

She/he might also be able to offer some suggestions.

I think you would still be ok with red. I don't know about the pinks with the burgundy.

If BDW has taught you nothing else, it is that you go for what you want!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
