Attn Ror Brides....

Recommended Posts

I have read in your posts that several of you had rain on your wedding day. I don't want to travel all that way just to be married inside. How long was the hotel willing to wait, in order for the rain to pass, so you could still do your ceremony outside?

Hi there, I havn't been married yet, but I totaly understand where your coming from! I also didn't pay all that money to get married in teh rain. If I were you, choose the seafed season to travel. I'm going in April, the month with the least rain days. And I gues, if you are the last getting married on that day, it will be ok to wait a while untill it gets dry. Everybody I knew that hav been to Jamaica, told me that if it rains, it only is for about e few minutes or so. So dont worry, you will be fine!

I was not a ROR bride, but a Jamaica bride.

It did rain on my wedding day. It only lasted about 10 minutes. I got married at 4:00 pm. It does tend to rain later in the afternoon. We only had rain 2 maybe 3 days of our 8 day drip, and it was always 15 minutes or less.

Our ceremony was only about 12 minutes, so we had plenty of time. The reason I chose 4, even knowing the chances of rain, was because it was the last wedding of the day. Most brides had at least 30-45 minutes of "wiggle room".

Usually, the earlier in the day you get married, the less chance of rain. The showers seem to be between 2-6, as the sun goes down and it cools off.

It did rain on my wedding day!!!

The rain there comes and goes, and usually doesnt last long and even on a semi cloudy day it looks great (and is even better for pictures - so says my cousin who was my photog). ROR & Chandlyn really works with you and is really laid back, so if you are willing to wait it out, they will go along with that. My wedding was suppose to be at 12 and we ended up not getting married until 2pm. If it would have been any longer I would have had to wait untill after the next wedding. The next brides time was actually 2. She was going to to hers inside (which is actually open to the beach) but once it cleared the bride changed her mind. So they did mine than hers. We all were pretty laid back so it worked out. I say, dont worry about it and all will be fine.

It rained on my day as well...but it was over so quickly...The forecast even told me it would be raining the entire 2 weeks I was there...it rained, but it only lasted like 15 mins and that wasn't even everyday... You will be fine. I heard one bride postponed her ceremony until the rain passed and it was no problem...

You can definitely do your ceremony at Mammee Bay or the Plantation if it rains. You're covered, but the restaurants have no windows so you're technically still outside. You still get that tropical feel since the beach is in the background. You can manuever from your hotel room to Mammee Bay without ever getting wet, but if you do it at the Plantation you'll have to take a quick walk in the rain. We had to move our ceremony in to Mammee Bay because it rained just about ALL day!!! But everything worked out fine. I wouldn't advise using the conference room by the front desk, but that's just personal preference.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
