Post Your Gifts For Your Wedding Party Here!

Recommended Posts

Here is what I have come up with so far:

Bridemaids:

$200 dress

Main/Pedi day before we leave

Makeup & hair day off

Groomsmen:

Suits

Excursion once we arrive in Maui

It doesn't sound like much for the maids to me, but the dresses cost us $600 total, hair & makeup will be $550 total & mani/pedi will be $300 total so does that seem like a sufficient gift??

The groomsmen really don't even know they are suppose to get a gift, lol. We bought their suits, which were around $100 each & we are paying for them to go on an excursion the day before the wedding which cost around $100.

I think thats really great kstinson. We are the same way so far:

Bridesmaids:

7 Dresses from jcrew (I just ordered them yesterday because its 20% off your entire order until memorial day) ranged from $134-$144 each

7 Spa wraps from smartpantsboutique $21/each

Groomsman (my FI is in charge of this, so this was all his choice)

7 White collared long sleeve dress shirt from banana $65

7 pairs of Linen pants from banana $85

Not sure what else we will get. But will probably spend another $100 on each of them as we are letting them do whatever they want with their hair and makeup. I figure im not getting mine done so I don't want to make them.

I hired a stylist to come to our condo in Maui to do our hair/makeup. I thought it would be fun!! We won't have to worry about going anywhere, so we can have some drinks, get beautiful :) & just have a good time.

I've never been in a DW before, so I'm not sure what protocol is for gifts. Hope what we are doing is enough to say thanks.

MOH-- Mesh ring from Tiffany's and also an pearl style opal necklace from Tiffany's. (I will give her the necklace the day of, it matches her dress beautifully)

BMs-- Tiffany's MEsh Ring

FG-- Elsa Peretti Starfish necklace from Tiffany's. Really cute, and she LOVES necklaces. (more of a keepsake for later-- she's only 2)

FOB-- Made him a "storybook" scrapbook of our lives together (Birth to Bride type of thing)

MOB-- Still in the works, so far I bought her an Elsa Peretti Charm Bracelet, but I'd like to get her something special for the big day.

GMs-- FI designed custom golf bags with matching cart duffel for each of the boys. The straps have their nicknames on them, and they have a logo they designed years ago for their annual golf trip-- so that was printed on the side. They should arrive early next week, I'll post pics.

I have quite a few periferals that I wanted to give gifts to (Stepmom, FMIL, mom's BF, Grandparents) so I made them all funny gifts.

For Example, I made my mom's bf a t-shirt that said "I'm with the MOB"

hee hee!

I found the gift buying SUPER fun, good luck and happy deciding!

Is anyone paying for their bridal party as a gift? We have 12 people in ours (not counting brother and sister) and we are paying for their whole stay in Mexico, excluding flights.

Could that count as a gift or should we get them something more.

PS-everyone is getting an OOT bag too. I just hadn't thought of anything extra for the BP.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
