Frustrated a bit with WC

Hey girls! Am I getting ahead of myself? My wedding is approaching May 20 so thats like 2 1/2 months away.... And the WC is great, answers my questions, met her in person, is flexible and helpful . But there are still alot of little things that need to be done...for instance I sent her my cake, flowers, decoration request and I am waiting on quotes...but it takes her 1-2 weeks to respond...and then still need to talk with caterer florist to get quotes.... I can't wait that long!!

I know that she works alone with the help of staff she pulls for catering, flowers, etc. And has weddings every day!!! How do they do this??

 

Should I be getting more attention or do I just need to be more patient (it will all work out?). I feel like calling Dreams and saying Hey!! Give this girl more help!!! I need questions answered sooner....

 

How are your WCs ??

I would honestly expect to receive more attention in the 3 to 4 weeks leading up to your day. However, you def should have gotten price quotes already! That would make me a little uncomfortable not to have quotes yet....you might need to raise a little bit of a stink.

Oh Brenda! I think you should call Dreams! The WC needs to understand that you need to make decisions based on the information she provides for you!

 

And tell them that to stop using the excuse that they are on "Mexico Time"!!!

 

I'm Mexican and even I'm tired of hearing it!

 

By the way, which Dreams are you marrying at?

I am sure it will all work out in the end - but I am also sure you don't want to hear that! I am guessing every bride is different, and I say this because I haven't even thought about what flowers I will have, and haven't decided what I want for music, or any of that - let alone ask for quotes! And I am jsut a couple weeks behind you. But I am also a huge procrastinator! I think you should set expectations and say "I expect to hear back by xx/xx/xxxx" or something. Not sure if that will work though. Maybe you can get a hold of her manager at Dreams and explain your frustrations, like Amy suggested?

Hey Brenda, if it makes you feel any better I heard that claudia was out for a week or so, for a much needed break after all of the weddings they've had, so that could be part of the problem with slow responses.

 

Also, I in the original dreams cancun thread I posted a file they sent me yesterday about the cakes, they give pictures & prices, let me know if you can't find it and I can email it to you, but that might help you.

 

As for the flowers, I was told that we could make those decisions when we got there, which I don't mind because I'm not that concerned with the flowers I have an idea of what I want and if they can do something close I'll be happy. But you probably want more for flowers than I do. Were you not able to find anything that you liked in the options that she gave us? Or did you just want more?

 

I hope you get everything figured out. My TA emailed her last week and didn't get a response so she ended up calling her manager, and thats when she found out that claudia had been out. I think she said she requested that they have an autoreply when she is out so that we will know the response will be delayed, we'll see if they listen, lol!

I have a question for you ladies. Do you pay your WC or is part of the hotel service? I am working with my hotel "WC" I am not sure if she is actually one, but she is not charging for her services and I was thinking I should give her some sort of tip.

 

Also, I really think you need to call your hotel or something and tell them that your wedding is like 2 months away and you donâ€t have answers!!!

brenda, if it is a complicated cake or flower arrangement it may take longer, but if it is simple you should usually hear back within a few days...i emailed her last week and received and email back within a day.

 

is there anything on this forum that might help...jilly mentioned flower prices.

Thanks a lot guys for your responses!! I do feel better, Jilly, knowing that she was out for a bit... I understand she has a lot on her hands. Don't get me wrong she is very responsive and has always answered my questions, its just taken a week or two to get back and I'd just like to compare prices with other places. Thats the thing.... and it just worries me that it's only her....But I guess I have less to worry now hearing that things usually pan out closer to the date. i hope :)

The first too I had were evil heffas ( it was probably me but I will never admit it)…my new WC's are sooooooo awesome…I talked to one of them yesterday via e-mail and we talked non-wedding stuff…my new C are day of and are a little pricey compared to the 2 heffas I fired..i rather pay for quality than have a cheap b/s wedding…I like to be flexible and I change my mind often NP with the WC and actually I have not changed my mind since being with them b/c they let me take my time deciding and assist me when needed…

 

I think they should give you all the attention they can so long as you are being reasonable and I think you are!
