TTD...Before or after wedding?

Recommended Posts

Well, if you intend on getting wet or sandy (which is why most of us do the TTD) I would definetely do it after your wedding. I suppose if you are not getting wet or sandy then you would be safe to do it before?? I know that for my TTD I'm going to literally TRASH MY DRESS as much as possible and have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would only do it before if you are wearing a different dress and if you only have one day after your wedding before you left.

We left 2 mornings after the wedding, so we did the TTD the morning after which really sucked as we got up at 6am! I knew it would suck but felt like we had no choice.

To the bride you said she wanted to wear her dress again for the AHR, you realize most brides dresses don't actually get trashed right? I bought a different dress too, but after seeing how my dress handled the water (when it got a little wet and sandy on the wedding day) I decided to wear it and it came out in better shape, totally clean! All brides I've heard who have done TTD have said the same except one who said sand got stuck in teh lace and wouldn't come out. So it obviously depends on the material of the dress and what exactly you'll be doing but if you are just playing in the water most dresses will be totally fine and you can re-wear it to your AHR

I did mine 2 days before the wedding.

I had a second dress so it was no problem. My TTD was informal. I went in teh pool first, then the ocean. To clean, I put the dress in the shower with me and hosed it down. I simply hung it outside on out balcony to dry. It was completely dry the next morning. I even wore the dress again after our ceremony at the reception there and jumped into the pool again.

It was nice to have it out of the way. We left 2 days after the wedding and I didn't have to get up early or even leave the room the next day. I like being able to relax and not have to follow a schedule.

My TTD was much cleaner than my real dress. It was a mess! I couldn't believe it. I only had it on for about 5 hours!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
