TTD...Before or after wedding?

Recommended Posts

We're having our wedding on 1.5.09. I can't figure whether it's best to TTD on 1.4.09 or 1.6.09.

How does everyone usually set it up? Thanks for your help.

Well, if you intend on getting wet or sandy (which is why most of us do the TTD) I would definetely do it after your wedding. I suppose if you are not getting wet or sandy then you would be safe to do it before?? I know that for my TTD I'm going to literally TRASH MY DRESS as much as possible and have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have requested that my TTD be 2 days after the wedding (I don't want to wake up early the day after the wedding which is when we'd have to have the TTD session) but I could do it before b/c I am going to use a different dress - I plan to wear my dress again at the AHR

I would do it after. Especially if you are planning on using the same dress as your wedding day. Do you want your fi to see you dressed as a bride before the wedding? some people mind, some don't

I would only do it before if you are wearing a different dress and if you only have one day after your wedding before you left.

We left 2 mornings after the wedding, so we did the TTD the morning after which really sucked as we got up at 6am! I knew it would suck but felt like we had no choice.

To the bride you said she wanted to wear her dress again for the AHR, you realize most brides dresses don't actually get trashed right? I bought a different dress too, but after seeing how my dress handled the water (when it got a little wet and sandy on the wedding day) I decided to wear it and it came out in better shape, totally clean! All brides I've heard who have done TTD have said the same except one who said sand got stuck in teh lace and wouldn't come out. So it obviously depends on the material of the dress and what exactly you'll be doing but if you are just playing in the water most dresses will be totally fine and you can re-wear it to your AHR

That's actually good to know because I forgot about wearing the dress for the AHR after the TTD session. I don't plan to go swimming in my dress but I will make sure to keep in mind about sand and lace.

Thanks for the tip!

We did ours a few days after the wedding and it was great... I wore a different dress so that didn't matter. I liked it a few days later since we were both were so relaxed and we had a blast:) Good luck to you!

I did mine 2 days before the wedding.

I had a second dress so it was no problem. My TTD was informal. I went in teh pool first, then the ocean. To clean, I put the dress in the shower with me and hosed it down. I simply hung it outside on out balcony to dry. It was completely dry the next morning. I even wore the dress again after our ceremony at the reception there and jumped into the pool again.

It was nice to have it out of the way. We left 2 days after the wedding and I didn't have to get up early or even leave the room the next day. I like being able to relax and not have to follow a schedule.

My TTD was much cleaner than my real dress. It was a mess! I couldn't believe it. I only had it on for about 5 hours!

We are doing ours the day after since I am wearing my actual wedding dress and plan to get it wet.

    • What color is your wedding? You can go with warm autumn-inspired colors such as burnt oranges, dark reds, burgundy, bright yellows, like fall foliage   https://printsbery.com/invitations/wedding/burgundy   What planning have you guys done?
    • We booked our wedding for April 2021 but the venue let us know at this time they are still implementing Covid measures so we should not have more than 50 guests, etc. We also made sure the contract had an "out" clause that would let us get a refund should the pandemic blow up again, or have the ability to reschedule without penalty.
    • I am having my wedding scheduled in November 2020. I am too much worried about how all the things will be managed in this pandemic situation. About everything like the guest list, preparations, my attire and all. The only thing I am relaxed is about finances. In Feb only me and my fiancé applied for the wedding loans. We have applied early because both of us are having bad credit we had a doubt that it will be approved or not. But our wedding loans with bad credit were timely approved and we have planned accordingly but now this pandemic has spoiled all our preparations. We are trying to be positive and trying to celebrate our new beginnings.
