Welcome Dinner on a budget!

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies....

Well, I have less than 3 months til the big day and there is still so much to do!

I was wondering if anyone knew of a restaurant in Cabo San Lucas that is reasonably priced and easy to work with for our welcome dinner. We are exprecting about 50 people and most of us are staying at the Sheraton Hacienda. So far, Maye told me about Mi Casa and waiting to hear back about prices. Any suggestions and prices would be greatly appreciated!

You girls are AWESOME!cheer2.gif

I'm not much help with the budget part, but Mi Casa would be an awsome restaurant to have a welcome dinner. The place is huge and I'm pretty sure they have a private room for parties. Also I'm planning mine at the office, which is also another beautiful spot! Good Luck

Hi Adriana, I'm getting married at the Sheraton a few weeks after you!! I haven't planned my welcome dinner yet. Since I'm also on a budget I am thinking maybe instead of dinner just having a cocktail hour and Hors d'oeuvres...i think it gives everyone more of a chance to mingle, rather than having a sit down dinner....

The food at Mi Casa is pretty good. If you haven't been there, it's got a very authentic hole-in-the-wall feel (rather than some of the other restaurants that have nicer garden patios). But it's fun and the food and drinks are good. I looked into a rehearsal dinner there. While a normal dinner there is not expensive at all, the banquet menu they offer is not as cheap. With the cheapest menu they offer for a rehearsal dinner, it's still about $100 per person after the tax/gratuity. Depending on the size of your group, they appear to require that you do an open bar to justify you taking up the space in their small restaurant (that's what the manager there told me).

No, I haven't even started planning that yet since my wedding is still a year away, I just know that I want it there cause it is my favorite restaurant in Cabo!!! Not to mention that it's on the sand and has a beautiful view of Lands End.

Mi Casa is definitely a fun place. But for whatever reason, they said I needed to do a mandatory open bar. It may be because of the size of my group (100+), which they said would require them to close off a large section of their restaurant (although on the Saturday night we were there, that area was not being used anyway).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
