Photographer paperwork requirements

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, we are flying one of our local photographers down to Mexico for our wedding. We do not have a local Mexican consulate located anywhere in our state so I have had no luck contacting anyone about this. I called the closest one in a surrounding state and all I got was a recording and I was unable to speak to a person or leave a message. I was just wondering if anyone knows how and which visa we will need to have her apply for in order to shoot our event. I think it is the FM3 but I am not positive. She will be there for 4 days total but only working for 1-2 the rest of the time she will be vacationing. Does anyone have any information that might help me?

I don't think you need to go that route at all since she will most likely be staying at your resort. Really, no different than one of your guests staying there and taking pictures of your wedding.

Her business resides outside of Mexico and will be claiming that income in her home country... so the regualar FMT visa that everybody gets (on the plane) should be fine.

Please let me know if you find out anything differnt than this.

That should be the way it works... but Karisma resorts interpret it differently. They require the visa from what has been said even tho the buisness part is happening outside of Mexico like you said.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
