ROR and IPOD

Recommended Posts

For those of you that used an IPOD for your ceremony and reception, did you bring your own speakers like Bose, or did you hook your IPOD into the speakers at the Riu?

We booked the Seagrape for after dinner, for dancing and partying on the beach. And I wasn't sure if it would be best to use their speakers and hook the IPOD in or just bring speakers, but I wasn't sure if they would be loud enough.

If you used speakers at the Riu does anyone know what they cost?

As far as the ceremony, I definitely want to you my ipod and speakers, but I wasn't sure about the reception at the Seagrape. If my speakers would be loud enough, I would not hire a DJ. We are having an AHR so we will do all the first dance stuff and bouquet toss then, so we really don't need anyone MCing. Our gang would be happying hanging out at the bar drinking and dancing on the beach to our own music. I just didn't know if anyone has used an ipod for the reception or if it is possible to hook the ipod up to big speakers, like the DJ would use.

Yes, there is a boom box that you can use to play cd's. We gave Chandlyn the cd's to play for our ceremony & it worked well. If you're using more than 1 cd, just make sure your cd's are in order & labeled.

I think we're convinced it would be worth the investment to buy some speakers and bring them down and use the ipod versus shelling out for the dj. Here's the "probably stupid" question...about how much should we expect to shell out for a nice set of Bose speakers? Also, what did you do with the speakers when you weren't using them, did they fit in the room safe?

You can get the Bose Soundock:
Bose® - SoundDock® Digital Music System for Apple® iPod - White - SOUNDDOCK

or, you can get the Altec Lansing InMotion:
Sweet iPod Speakers - Altec Lansing inMotion iM7 - At A Glance - Reviews by PC Magazine

I have the InMotion & love it. It was definitely a good investment & we use it allll the time. Not sure if you'd be able to fit this in the safe though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
