Who is watching the Olympics?...

I'm all over the Olympics. It's bringing back all the memories of the Salt Lake Games for me (my company sent me there to operate programs up there & I'm reminiscing about the Opening & Closing Ceremonies that I got to attend).

How can you not LOVE watching the swimming. Track & Field is going to be amazing, too! And I'm so proud of the men's gymnastics team. Go USA!!

HA! Alyssa I'm so with you, except my training on drinking also extends to liquor AND wine!

Another point I think is important is the sadness I feel when I watch the chinese competitors. Some of the girls were taken from their families at the age of 3. Ok, so the commentator says they were not kicking and screaming, but seriously, having come from a situation of flip flopping between my mother and grandmother and greatgrandmother since I was 2, I know first hand that not being with your mom is so profoundly sad. I cannot even imagine the amount of stress that they must be going through to compete at the Olympic level.

On a positive note: GO MICHAEL PHELPS!!!! WHEW WHEW MARYLAND BMORE AREA!!!!! GO TOWSON!!!

I am a HUGE Olympics fan! I tried so hard to stay up for women's gymnastics last night, but ended up dozing sometime around the balance beam. I'm happy they got the silver, but it sounds like they totally gave away the gold.

May I ask what is up with synchronized diving? I never even knew this was an Olympic sport. I just can't take it seriously. Every time the divers (men) hit the water in those itty bitty bathing suits, all I see is plummer crack!

I can't imagine what the adrenaline would be like doing a vault for an Olympic gold, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have felt much pain. PLUS I'm pretty sure NO athlete would walk away from an chance to make history because of a sprained ankle so I guess I didn't see what she did was so special (in regards of her sucking it up- not the landing a perfect vault.) Gosh I'm still ranting about her.....LOL
I was watching the Olympics 2 nights ago during the mens gymnastics, and they did this flashback to '76 when one of the guys on the Japanese team fractured his leg halfway through the competition. But he didn't tell anyone on his team. So he kept competing to help his team out with a broken leg!!

And on top of that, his last event was the bar, and when he did his landing (on his broken leg), he DISLOCATED HIS KNEE!

They won gold.

OMG! FI and I were just discussing this - wtf.gif they don't even judge them on the actual dive, mostly the synchronization - that is SO F'in stupid as an Olympic sport (IMHO) - this is the equivalent of "Curling" in the winter olympics - Sorry to anyone this offends! oops.gif

Did you see Frenchy's look last night? Looked like he was trash talking again, just by that expression on his mug. Seriously dude, you lost, Phelps' better than you. Vive les Etats-Unis!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
