Laser hair removal?

LEIGH

Recommended Posts

Laser hair removal works, it just depends on the type of hair you have. It doesn't do anything for blonde hair, the best results are on fair people with dark hair. I had it done to my legs and underarms a few years ago. It takes at least a year since you have to space out your sessions, hair grows at different intervals. I shave the blonde hairs from my underarms and legs about once a week. Not sure laser hair removal is common for the upper lip as it'd have to be dark and has potential for scarring? I would love to do laser on my bikini area but my underarms hurt so bad I can't imagine how that would be!!

I'm noticing my hair on my upper lip more now that I no longer go tanning. I'm going to look into both electrolosis and laser hair removal.

I was reading comments from a few years ago and someone had mentioned something about side effects from the laser being near glands? Does anyone know anything more on this?

I wish for once that you could do something completely 100% safe without there ever being side effects!!

i had laser done almost 5yrs ago now in TO at pure med spa Pure Med Spa: Med Spa Home. i did my underarm, lip/chin and bikini. i did about 8-10 sessions, over the space of a year. it cost me about $5000 total. i found it to be extremely painful, i even tried the numbing creams (so add more to the cost it was about $50 for a small a tube (prices may be different now). you can't be out in the sun at all, you can't wax or pluck, only shave and you have to wait at least 6wks for your next appointment. i was never 'smooth' anywhere after treatments. the hair has grown back. the bikini area still comes in but not as thick. the underarm is just a few spruce hairs but enough that i still run the razer by to stay smooth. the lip/chin is the worst. especially the chin i have more hair now than when i got the treatment done. i think 'shaving' made it worse. i find for what it did it's overpriced with little results i'm no better off 5yrs later than when i started. should of did something more valuable with my money than waste it. but that is just my opinion.

thx .. i've been hearing the same so not sure what ill do, it dont seem worth it for me b/c the hair is very very fine, peach fuzz. its not even that dark either, it has gotten darker but its not too obvious or anything. at least thats what people tell me hahah. so maybe ill try bleaching it? i have dark brown hair and light skin so not sure...sometimes if i lighten my hair it tints red.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
