Donâ€™t pay for luggage carts. Walk outside and grab one that someone left curbside.
Wear socks or be forced to walk through the metal detector barefoot.
If you pack your â€œpersonal massagerâ€ in your carry-on bag, it will most certainly get searched.
Remember, Europeâ€™s on the metric system so calories donâ€™t count.
The time spent at a cultural event should be inversely proportional to the time spent at the cafe next door.
Tip well. If youâ€™re American, tip even better.
Youâ€™re not a traveler if you canâ€™t haggle; youâ€™re a tourist. But youâ€™re also not a traveler if you haggle for six hours; youâ€™re a cheap bastard.
When disaster strikes â€” and it will â€” relax. Remember: Itâ€™s all part of the adventure and will make for a great story later.

The Eiffel Tower is great and all, but itâ€™s not officially a vacation unless thereâ€™s a beach and an umbrella drink.
